My criteria consists of value, team need, and upside. Each component is weighed differently depending on each team. Thoughts?

If a team drafts Tebow in the first, it's probably not a good draft.

If a team picks a guy in the top 10 who wasn't supposed to go until the bottom of the 1st it probably isn't a good draft.

yeah. You can't separate value from a good draft.

What do you think the draft is? Like LeAnn Rimes, it's all about value.

This is the only way to do this.

no doubt. However, we can look at what it looks like on paper.

Why? Basically your saying you can pick any factor and weight it as much as you want just to say that team had a good or bad draft. This is stupid, the only way to determine a good draft is production.

Well.. Suh obviously was the best player coming into the draft, but because the Rams so heavily needed a QB, they passed on Suh to take Bradford. Therefore, the Rams weighed team need over value/upside.

The Rams did. But according to your formula how would YOU grade them? If your constantly changing your formula for every team than basically every team could have a good draft according to you.

The Saints weighed value/ upside more. Does that make it a bad draft?

the media, other scouts, g.m.'s. They take a pole of scouts each year and have them vote on the top 5 DT's in the draft and these were the results.

In a 20-scout poll by the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel on the best defensive tackle prospect in this year's draft, Ndamukong Suh easily paced the field with 15 1/2 first-place votes.
Suh also received 95 1/2 "points," according to the Journal-Sentinel's scoring system. Gerald McCoy (4 1/2 first-place votes, 84 1/2 points) finished a rather distant second, while Dan Williams (48 points), Brian Price (30), Jared Odrick (29), Tyson Alualu (9), Terrence Cody (2), and Linval Joseph and Al Woods (tied with one point) rounded out the top-nine defensive tackles.

it depends. Obviously they have a need at LB and S if Sharper leaves. They did not address those needs in the draft. If the Saints struggle this year at those positions because they did not address their biggest needs, then one could argue it was not a great draft.
