Basically the same deal they made with Warner last year.

What Netflix gives: they now wait 28 days after the films are released for sale on DVD before they can rent out movies from these studios

What Netflix gains: cheaper access to DVD's from those studios, and more streaming titles to add to their library

So...how do you feel about this?

Personally, I don't really give a shite about the 28 day wait. I'm not the type of customer that needs to see a movie as soon as its released. And if it keeps costs down and allows for more streaming titles, then I feel like I benefit. But I know a lot of people don't like this idea. Would love to hear your thoughts...

Same way I feel. I very rarely even get new releases off of netflix, and by new I mean movies that have been out for less than around 6 months

I don't stock release dates and I watch a lot of streaming! So I guess that means I don't care about the deal.

Not a big deal for me either. If there is something I want to see right away, I just go to the redbox or BB.

I like this deal. If I absolutely HAVE to see a movie that isn't on there yet I'll just find an online copy. Plus, there are literally hundreds of movie currently on Instant that I haven't seen yet so it's not like I don't already have choices. In Netflix I trust.

This is pretty much all I care about. Release dates have no effect on me at all. So this is a good thing IMO.

with the death of brick and mortar rental places, this is a gamble for movie studios

do they really think people will HAVE to buy most of the movies that are released on DVD?

If it adds more movies to the "Instant View" collection, I have no problem waiting for the new releases.

This. I want more stuff streaming, I don't buy movies anymore, and I rarely put new releases up on my top que. I like this deal.

I agree 100%. If it was a movie I just had to see then I would have caught it in the theater.

So 28 days is not problem as long as they really pass the cost benefit to us and we do really get more streaming flicka shows.

Sounds like a good deal to me. If I want to see it early, I see it at the theater. I like having more stuff streamed, since this is the way I most often use Netflix.

If that means more quality movies available for streaming I'm all for it. I rarely ever watch my actual DVDs

Yeah I can't really see this causing a great upsurge in people running out and buying movies. Most people just check what's comming out at the video store/Netflix that week and to them those are the new releases

To be honest, I don't mind any deals that expands the streaming library.

I would LOVE IT if Netflix got to the point of being able to offer streaming versions of all DVD released in the last 10-15 years or so.
