Just said on ESPN radio that he thinks Saints are the lead team to sign him Alex Brown. What do you guys think about that, would this move make LB the first priority in the draft?

Not sure what to think. I wasn't a big fan, but it looks like a lot of Bears fans (not just Beartards) think he was goo, and he was supposedly solid against the run at the LDE spot. He wasn't getting ANY takers at $5m per year, so if we could get him at around 4 years, $15m, I guess that would help us out a lot. Would love to have flexibility at 32, not being forced to go after a DE.

I'd like it. He's not great, but he's solid. It would give the team the option to fill another hole if a DE doesn't drop to them.

He's pretty good against the run and can get some pressure on the QB. I definitely wouldn't mind having him on board.

I'd like the signing, but a 1-tech DT is still the team's biggest need. I don't know if anybody of value at that position will be at 32.

Makes sense to the FO if you ask me. Really didn't have another decent pass rusher besides Will Smith. I don't mind it if they go for it.

That being said...I'm telling you guys, Odrick with the first pick. that's my bet.

I think Odrick would be solid.
DE- Smith, Brown, McCray, Hargrove
DT- Ellis, Odrick, Ayodele, Pressley

Not a bad 2-deep on the D-line.

Odrick starting to move up beyond our reach. Lots of folks are saying he is getting love from the Pats and he would look very good replacing Seymour as their 3-4 DE.

So assuming we sign Brown this would be a short list of guys we take if available most likely DT, LB, or BPA

DT Jared Odrick
OLB Sean Weatherspoon
OLB Jerry Hughes

What if Odrick and Weatherspoon are off the board, can you guys see us trading down to pick up someone like Hughes or a DT in the 2nd?

What do you think of Lamar Houston? Some people are projecting him as the Saints second round pick. He is a 6'3" 305 lbs DT from University of Texas who has been very solid but didn't produce gaudy stats. He had an excellent combine and doesn't look like the typical fat DT. Brian Price is now starting to like he would be a good shot to be available at the 32nd pick. Scouts ripped on how tubby he looked at his pro day but he has looked the same at UCLA when he was tearing up opposing offensive lines.

Um..how big do you want YOUR tackles in a 4-3 base? There's more criteria involved with defensive tackles than weight, and unless Loomis and boys see something I don't, if Odrick is there I think they take him. That's my hunch.

um maybe that he plays the 3 technique which is the same position as Ellis and Hargrove while we are looking for a 1 technique???

you didn't answer the question.

link needs to be provided where they are specifically looking for a 1.

Also, you addressed size specifically. I addressed it. Make up your mind about what you want to look stupid about, please.

are you serious with this? Why do you think we are looking for a DT? Why did we want Jammal Williams to visit?

you can't tell one position apart from another, want us to draft someone who does not fill a need for us at all and yet I'm looking stupid? Nice.

so, lemme get this straight:

1. No proof.
2. Still can't answer one question.
3. Apparently has no idea how this front office drafts.

Got it. You're done. see ya.

the front office just stockpiles one position and neglects needs now? Man, you have it all figured out. Its either Odrick or Jimmy Clausen IMO. You have proof.

Are you debating the fact that we are looking for a 1 technique DT and not a 3 technique?? Seriously????

Are you debating the fact that Odrick is a 3 technique???

Its cute that you know so little about football and still try to sit here and argue when I might as well be posting in Spanish to you at this point.
