Just watched spring game again and take out the pick 6 and he really did look pretty good. I wish jj would just take the job and run with it but he looked bad and complained after every pass! Whining about randall running on HIS over thrown ball and sheps miss. Its just frustrating to watch. I would take this lee over this jj. But after the tech game i just cant make myself put much stock in lee until he proves other wise. Judging off just today i would go lee. I cant watch another year of that offense!!!! I would rather win 9 games and put up 38 a game at least it would be exciting.

No... he didn't.

But I guess it's all relative. And relative to how JJ played, yeah, JL looked 'better'.

But both guys were seriously disappointing out there.

Im gonna have to disagree. I looked at my buddy after watchin 1st time and said our qbs still suck. Watched it again a min ago bc there is nothin on tv and was surprised that he ran the o pretty well.
Td pass to tolliver
nice long completion to d peterson
few nice check downs to ford
some nice tight throws over middle
2 nicely placed balls not caught, one to randall and jump ball to toliver in end zone.
I would give him a B-
jj gets an F! Has he EVER thrown a deep ball that was not over thrown??? We have tall receivers!
Randall is good for 2 deep jump balls a game if he gets them thrown to him

I have to agree. Based on yesterday, I'm back on the JL bandwagon.

It really comes down to: who will be able to complete a pass when the defenses stack the line to stop our new-found running game? Who will pass the ball over the middle? Who will throw it away? I think JL is better, again, than JJ. I still would like to see more of Garrett.

And besides, having JL in at QB eliminates the option play that I hated so much last year.

too bad we don't have a 6'4" 235 lb QB w/ a strong arm that was highly recruited, waiting for his chance to show what he can do ... oh wait, we do

I thought JL looked better than JJ. JJ is the same JJ of last year, sacks, overthrows, complaining and whinning.

Only a spring game but didn't notice much improvement in JJ. I was hoping to see him take command. Didn't happen.

JL, if our only option...well it's gonna be another long season.

Not sure what any of the coaches can do for JJ. Not sure what JL can do about pick 6's.
Not sure what what I can do to feel better about upcoming season. Hope I'm wrong!

Worse looking Lsu football team I have seen in 20 yrs. even though it is a spring game. No qb for the third yr. due to Les's Lack of coaching ability. Might as well start Garrett, & get some playing time for the new coach & 2011 season. Only bright spot was the 2 running backs & field goal team. I would like to change my guess for next yr. won-lost to 7&5 If we get some good calls from the refs .

Maybe my memory is bad, but there were times when JL actually ran the option better than JJ. Again, running the option is about making quick decisions, which is clearly not JJ's strong point.

We embarrassed ourselves on espn yesterday. The the amazing quality of the talent, just made it more so. With terrible QB play and offensive scheme we looked like keystone cops.

Rating:
Passing game - F
Running game - A
Defense - A

Things that do not involve the quarterback we're fine, but since teams will just stack the line to stop the run, we'll again be the worst offense with JJ starting. If this is the best we can do - I agree - let's start a freshman so we can be good later.

After all the talk about JJ improvement, the ONLY good thing about qb yesterday is: the coaches now realize NOTHING has changed.

All comes down to what you would rather see.

Lee throwing the expected Pick-6 but with our offense having some type of rhythm..

or -

Jefferson taking a high number of sacks, overthrowing open receivers down field, and having a non existent passing game, which leads to a bad running game.

Actually, a combination of 2 things...a receiver short arming the catch and a great play by Loston.

Yea, 2 years ago if he wouldn't have thrown all those pick 6's he wouldn't have been bad...oh wait, he did though.

This is amazing. It was a Spring Game, and yea, JJ looked like shite but Lee definitely ddin't set the world on fire. He had a couple of solid throws, but I'm not gonna say 2 swing passes to Ford are considered good. Also, Peterson was absolutely wide open on his longer catch and CT was pretty open on his TD.

I actually want Lee to start because the morons who want him to start will get their wish for the 3rd time, and against teams like UNC, Bama, and UF Lee will shown why he's not our starter. Just like he did last year against Bama and against LA TECH. Remember La Tech? That game where he played the entire game and we almost lost because we had zero offense?

JJ has no deep ball whatsoever.

That skill cannot be taught.

Teams will stack the box on us, again. And our new found running game will flounder.

We will lose 4 to 6 games with him at QB.

Lee looked much better than JJ yesterday. But even the announcers kept saying LSU doesn't seem have a QB that can manage the game!
