At this point he has to be. Good chance replaces Gaudet next year at DH or Dean at 1B.

I would have to guess that he is at this point. Gaudet's play has kept him off the field and it would be nice to have him available for two more years with Dean and MG departing after this season.

Not sure that it matters, he's already draft eligible. If he stays and plays up to his potential next year, he probably wouldn't be around for a third year anyway. A redshirt could help him to get more money, though, if he is drafted and still has an option to return to LSU for another year.

He wasn't even drafted out of JUCO so unless he just has a HUGE year next year I doubt he leaves early.

unless any serious injuries happen, i don't see him playing this year. he played real well in fall practice and looked like he would get some playing time. He'll be starting at first base next year. just fell into some bad luck with gaudet coming around and dean playing first base all year.

What about Lowery? I think he is the other JUCO transfer who has not sniffed the field yet? I would think both are redshirting and hoep to compete next year.

Kyle Koenemen is injured as well. He has had a hamstring issue since he has been here.

Baseball Insiders, is he injured and just cant hit a certain pitch or two just yet..or another total Akiem Hicks/JuCo Stats missed evaluation?

He hit 50 home runs in two seasons at a JUCO, but that hasn't carried over to Div. 1. Heard he can crush fastballs, but has a horrible time with breaking and off speed stuff. And with the return of Gaudet, a redshirt is likely.
