Husqvarna lawn tractor won't start. Help needed....

Tried to start it for the first time this year yesterday. It turned over at first but wouldn't start. I kept trying to start it until it finally wouldn't turn over anymore. I left it alone and tried it again today. Same thing but it didn't take long for it not to turn over anymore. Any ideas as to what it could make not want to start.. pretty sure I flooded the damn thing though. TIA

My dad has had trouble with his since he got it. I always thought it might be him though, he's not mechanically inclined .

charge battery and clean carb bowl. prob stale gas, you will also need a small diam wire to unclog main jet in carb. very quick and simple fix

1st. Your carburetor is most likely gummed up from not running the gas out of it before you put it up for the winter and the octane broke down.

2nd, You ran the battery down trying to start it and it didn't have a whole lot of juice in it to begin with due to sitting up for a few months.

I used to sell Lawn mowers, in specific Husqvarnas, when I was in college. I can almost guarantee it is a carb problem causing it to not fire. Also, I would advise draining all of the gas and putting new in while charging the battery. Maybe you can flush the bad gas out the carb. Do not put carb cleaner in it though if you don't have to. It can damage the softer metal the engines are made from in small engines.

Probably battery. Hook up some jumper cables to your car, that should get it started.

This happened to me one time. Mower would crank for a few minutes then die. Wait thirty minutes...crank and die.

Took it to the shop and the tech removed the gas cap. Cranked and ran like a champ. There was a clogged vent hole in the cap which caused an air lock, which caused the gas not to flow. I'd check this first.

Drained the battery trying to start it. The fuel is probably bad from sitting up all fall and winter. Charge the battery and spray starter fluid into the carburetor and then see if it starts for a short time.

I wish he would have let us know if he got it started...I'm sure he did since he hasn't been back.

Bad air

Also, if the gas is old...dispose of it properly and get a fresh can. No use doing all the work getting the engine ready and then dump old gas in the tank.

Also, gas stabilizer is a good thing.
