He was in meltdown mode in Carolina, but I would take him over Brunell in a second.

I just don't like Delhomme as a QB. Definitely not in an offense that strives on precision passing and quick decisions. He only succeded when he had a great defense and a top running game.

If he's happy with #2 or #3 then I say sign him. He could be good insurance.

If he is visiting I'm pretty sure he understands that we have a starter. No qb controversy on this team.

I'm very good with him being back in LA, it will automatically stop half of the incidents where I want to hammerfist a persons face due to their Carolina love for Delhomme. I'm looking at you Lafayette region.

That's a fact.

If it's [possible, I'd pick Anderson over all of them. With the Saints OL, Anderson could show that he wasn't a one season fluke.

Would be a better back up than the one we have now. As far as Chase, no one really knows what he can offer.

just heard larry holder talking about it on 690

he thinks its a good idea, I think its awful

Jake has never been the same since arm surgery, not accurate and makes horrible decisions

but it is the back up position, Brees goes down and Saints would be cooked with almost anyone I guess but from this end too

I'd rather get Derek Anderson as well but I dont think that will happen. I think he ends up someplace that he could possibly start like Arizona, Carolina, or maybe even Oakland.

No problem with Delhomme, but why are most down on Chase Daniel, he has never been given a chance to show what capabilities he may have. He cannot be any worse that Burnell

I don't see what the big deal is with people on Delhomme. Its a backup spot.

He's a QB that's been to a Super Bowl, has played with the Saints before, etc. If Drew goes down, we're screwed almost no matter what.

This would be a good pickup, IMO.

he'd be an upgrade over Brunell, but I wouldn't pay him above the minimum

Agreed... I don't understand what people expect from the backup QB position.

I know that's the general opinion among the "experts" but the Cardinals and Panthers wouldn't be any better for him than the Saints. They're going with their young guys until the wheels fall off.

If Anderson was smart, he'd come to the Saints and rebuild his reputation in a "mop up" role. Do that for a season, or two, and see what happens.

Being a backup behind Brees means a hell of a lot more than being a backup to Leinart, or Moore.

Anyone think he pushes Brees for the starting spot? It might be good for Brees to have some competition after winning the Super Bowl. We don't want him to get lazy. Delhomme might be the guy to do it. He started in Carolina and led them to a Super Bowl.

Brees better get ready for some competition come training camp.
