My grandfather told us this week he can no longer afford to pay for the tickets he's had for 50 years. We are paying for half of them this season, but don;t really know what's gonna happen after that. Is there a way to transfer the tickets to us by way of changing the billing address to ours or something. From my understanding you can no longer will tickets to people. Any help would be much appreciated. I don;t know if I could stomach losing the tickets where I grew up watching Tiger football games.

well that is another part of the reason. he's had two knee replacements and has chronic arthritis all over his body. I mean he's 81 years old, so I'd like to get this taken care of because he won;t be around forever

Yep, call and ask about how to petition for a hardship. It will work given his physical disabilities, just call TAF about how to do it.

that's correct...but if your grandfather wants to transfer them before his death, he may be able to do so...

well, true, but that sounds like much more of a hassel. He also has mens and womens basketball and baseball season tickets. We live in Memphis so there's no way we would want to pay for all those, and the rule sounds like most of the time you have to transfer all sports. If he just willed us the tickets, that'd be fine. They are essentially ours as it is when he's alive, so why bother.

just get him to write the check. You give him the money and he just writes the check.

well that won't work out to well when he's not alive. that is what we do now. i started this thread to see if you were able to leave your tickets to your family in your will and other alternative ways of doing so.

you can still get around it if you keep the account open in his name and just use it to write LSU a check.....

But if they let you will it, then you dont have a problem

My grandfather transferred his tickets to my dad a couple of years ago and I don't think it was really difficult to do

Have your grandfather transfer them to his child for this season and then your parent can transfer them to you next season. Easily done.

You shouldn't be allowed to transfer at all.

why not? our family has been supporting lsu athletics for 50+ years, having season tickets to 4 sports. why should we have to give up our tickets when my grandfather dies?

I was told by the LSU ticket office, because I want to transfer our football tickets from my father's name to mine. Your grandfather will have to write a letter stating what he wants to do and write down his account and if you have one your account, the one that will be transfered to. You then have to get it notarized by the state, then mail it to the LSU ticket office.
