dude reminds me of Kevin Durant. obviously not as skilled but he is really long, handles the ball well, and has a pretty good shot. saw him take some people off the dribble too. he also seems to play with an attitude which cannot be said for most of the other players. seems like if given a little more playing time he could really become a solid player in the next couple years.

thoughts?

until he shoots the 3, he's no Kevin Durant.

He's not KD, but Harris has hit at least one 3 this year.

yeah but he looks good knocking down 15 footers. good touch. with that im sure he can develop the range to step outside the arc...

i know he is no Durant just on certain plays reminds me of him which seems like he has some potential with a pretty good inside and outside game.

He never sees a shot that he doesn't take, though. Coming off the bench - with the lack of scoring this team has - you gotta like his courage. The rest of the guys always pass it back to Bo-Tas-Storm.

He really needs to see what he can do in the post. He never wants his back to the basket when he gets a body on a guy. He has the tendency to dribble and try and create a shot right when he gets it. Not sure if J likes it one way or the other with Harris, but just an observation

Trent spent half of last year trying to make CJ a back to the basket guy and finally admitted he had made a mistake in doing that. Unfortunately he never realized the same about CJ guarding the other teams best post guy.

Harris is darn near a CJ clone. I don't think Trent minds. Until he gains significant weight/bulk he absolutely cannot play the post on either end of the court. He's best served used as he is. I'd like to see him get more minutes...and certainly more than Green.

Ugly, after a game (possibly four games ago when Harris had a good night from the floor) Bo told me that he just wished Dennis would understand how bad they need him in the post. Bo talked about how they were roommates and how he always told him that he needed to study each night to develop his post play. I wonder if J, with the talent coming in next season, will want to see more of Harris back down low (if he can bulk up). I was writing a piece on this, which is why I was talking to Spencer about it.

He just can't play the post at this level with that sleight of a body IMHO SirRohan.

You're putting him in a position to fail doing that. I will say this, if we have to pick our poison I'd rather have him defending the post than Green. Cause at least he'd bring some scoring potential on the other end.

Bo may think he needs him there, but you can't ask a kid to be something he's not. It's like asking a set your feet and shoot guy to try to create outside the offense and shoot at will....speaking of Bo.

yeah he's one of the few that isn't lacking in confidence. that's an interesting take from bo, i guess they do want to see him play in the post although like you say there will be more depth next season with white and courtney. nevertheless it wont hurt the kids game to develop some moves he can use when its time to go down there and play with his back to the basket, i do like what he does when facing the goal, i've speculated we will see him play some 3 next season and the 4 as well, i like that we can move him around. the team was really aided early in the year by how well he played off the bench. i said the other day he reminds me of storm from last season, started off well at the beginning of the year, picked up an injury, kind of fell off, then had some moments, hope he keeps getting better. he's got that shot blocking nature too which i like.

Not saying I agree with the comparison, but it is possible to compare people that are light years ahead of each other in talent level. I have compared Andre Stringer to Chris Jackson. Stringer is nowhere near CJ's talent level. However, they are both score-first point guards that are small. They both have a nice cross-over dribble and can score with a defender in their faces.

Harris and Durant are both tall and slender and are more face-to-the-basket players. I understood the comparison to be more about style of play and skill type, rather than comparing their talent level.

There is no reason to be an arse if you don't agree with someone.

I can see Harris getting drafted in the NBA after his Jr or Sr year, his skill set is very nice for a Tall guy and if he keeps developing and getting strong I think he will get there.
