couldn't help but notice the similarities in coaching styles last night watching the Superbowl. Payton has that same riverboat gambler attitude that Miles has displayed during his tenure here at LSU. How Milesesque was it of Payton to pull that onsides kick off to start the second half. Also going for it on 4th and goal (even though he came up short). Seems Payton has picked up on a few coaching techniques from the coach up the river. You could even say that Payton has Lesticles.

no but he makes the occasional boneheaded challenge wasting timeouts on plays that have no chance of being overturned. Happens to the best of them.

I want some of what you're having this morning.

Oh yes, great sage of the game clock...teach us more. Maybe there is still seating available at this Less Miles Football Academy for Bill Walsh, Vince Lombardi, and Bear Bryant.

I like the aggressive shite: our fake FG vs. South Carolina a couple years back; the onside kick v. Ole Miss this year; Bama's fake punt v. Texas in the NC this year, and the stuff the Saints did last night, especially the onside kick. I'm an adrenaline junkie.

two of the best in the business right here in Louisiana. I think players like playing for coaches that have faith in them and are willing to take calculated risks.

I like the aggressive style but the difference between Shawn and Les is that up to this point Shawn hasn't made a fool of himself. Shawn is currently seen as one of the best, if not the best, if the NFL. Furthermore, Shawn has this cool and collected mentallity and demeanor. Les, on the other hand often is seen looking like a baffoon...in both speech and personality. ANNNNNDD MORE IMPORTANTLY if you look at recent history Shawn's Saints have gotten expotentially better. The same can't be said for Les's Tigers. Les inherited a great program and it's gotten worse. Shawn inherited a crappy program and made it great!

So does Larry Coker. Still doesn't mean he is one of the best in the business.

Saints went 11-6 (with Ditkas players) in his first year with the Saints. Then followed that up with two straight loosing seasons. Payton was considered to be on the proverbial 'hot seat' by Sainttard fans going into this season.
