LSU was 6 points behind FSU in that championship in 2007 (54-48). If FSU loses 6 points do to ineligible participants, then LSU will get a share of the NC. If FSU loses 7 or more points, then LSU will get the title.
Unlike a sport like football, since these are team championships merited on the collection of points for multiple events, it can be reassessed and awarded to LSU if sanctions lead to a change in the official score.
Football is different for a number of reasons. There is no official NC in football for Division 1A and they play a head to head game of only 2 teams.

Looks like LSU will likely get the 2007 NC! I just found this site (although may not be 100% accurate) stating that the 2007 track team moved to 2nd place in the NCAA tournament, meaning LSU (2nd place originally) would be moved to 1st and thus NC!!!

We are looking good this year, but last year we looked terrible. We need to do well this year or I feel that duward may be somewhat right. We just didn't have the depth we should have had last year. We had the talent, we just didn't put it together when we needed to.
