ETA - maybe EVER is too much. Let's say the last 20 years.

Don't know.

But I do know I hope the next "worst" coach ever to win a NC is ours.

That season goes down as the luckiest of all time. No doubt. However Les deserves all the credit in the world for having the team ready for the BCSCG. No one can deny that.

Agree

Lloyd Carr and Larry Coker are NC winners.

here is your answer to ever...

LINK

Dude was 97-84-10 in 20 seasons. His teams made 2 bowl games in that span. His national title season was preceded by seasons of 4-7, 1-8, and 2-7...which means by today's standards he would have been fired.

Les getting us into the BCS 2007 reminds me of Clark Griswold in National Lampoons Vacation.

Remember the scene where everyone was asleep in the Family Truckster and the car drifted off the freeway, jumped the curb, spun all around and landed perfectly parked in a parking spot right in front of the motel?

I never was a Larry Coker fan. Lloyd Carr wasn't a terrible coach I don't think. The problem Michigan had was loyalty to assistants and trainers that weren't suited for the changes in college football.

The worst to win a NC that I have ever seen in 40 years. Hands down.

I know little leauge coaches that would school him with equal talent.

Post of the day -- possibly the week...

Now, just for fun, picture in your mind Les M at the wheel.

Without a doubt. The good news is we also had the best coach to win a NC in the last 20 years.

Eta: I Agree with a previous poster. My 11 year olds volunteer football coach could have led LSU to a 2 TD win over Ole Miss and Penn St this year.

Oh Nick was lucky too. Oklahoma losing in the Big 12 championship helped LSU get in.

An animated gif of that would be simply hilarious.
