I don't see any updated 2010 draft projections having Tigers going in the first round. This will be the first year in how many years that we don't have someone drafted to the NFL in the first round?

It just kind of seems that we had a lot of streaks come to an end this year.

There's a very good chance that one of either LaFell or Jones will end up being taken at the end of the 1st round.

With Berry being Top 5 and Mays being Top 10, the jury is probably out on if Jones or Burnett (from GT) will be the next safety off the board. Teams like Indy and Baltimore will be looking to shore up their aging safety positions (I'm assuming both teams have first round picks).

I'm hoping the 1st rounder streak continues. 40 times will be HUGE for LaFell/CJ.

How could this be? With good coaching we would have been undefeated.

Not so fast, most folks here in the KC area still think he has the potential to pan out. I will grant you that he may not live up to the expectations of a #3 overall pick. From an image standpoint he's been hindered by the fact that Bowe and Dorsey haven't exactly set the world on fire as Chiefs, either. Right or wrong, the LSU program doesn't look good to folks in this area.

Bowe - I'd say he's turned into a pretty serious WR considering he hasn't had a QB his whole career and he's the only threat in the passing game, consistently getting double teamed.

Dorsey - He's a 4-3 Defensive Tackle, and the Chiefs play a 3-4. That's the team's fault for drafting the wrong personnel. He was never thought of as a 3-4 DT.

Jackson - He's only played 1 season so you can't call him a total bust. He was never supposed to be drafted in the Top 5, so again, this looks liek the Chiefs' fault. I still think he'll be solid

The combine will tell. Lafell has the best shot now provided he runs flat out and gets a good eval. Black may have worked himself out of the first 2 rounds. Chad Jones is actually the 5th rated safety according to McShay so a good combine could help him as well.

Overall I agree, it's looking bleak as far as 1st round picks go.

I agree with you and think that our LSU guys have been hit hard for the wrong reasons by people here in KC. They were calling Dorsey a bust, which is wrong for the reasons you've cited and they got all mad about Bowe when he was suspended for the "drug" or "weight loss" issue. I think they will be fine long term.

Still a long way to draft day. I believe Lafell could yet slip into the first round with an impressive combine and draft day, much like Buster Davis did.

I'm going to laugh at Jones being taken in the first round.

LaFell and Jones have a shot, Black is a late round pick.

Draft?

You must mean a new military draft because I doubt there will be any first rounders in the NFL.
