Someone posted a link to an article in another thread but i felt it was important to point out a particular statement made by a recruit who decommitted from a school because of messaage boards. While i understand that not ALL recruits pay any attention to whats posted on message boards, some DO. This is 1/2 germans..LOL..but its worth reading..

You need to understand that these are 17,18 year old kids that don't have the obvious mental superiority and adjusment capabilities that you do. Unlike you, some can't let what they read on a message board run off their backs.

You realize of course anyone can register with an LSU name and have LSU fan and bash LSU while being a bama fan.

Coming under criticism for your play on the field is different IMO from personal criticism about intelligence, character, etc that is often made

Please show me a post on here where an LSU fan is BLASTING a recruit personally. Don't think you'll find one. Your example dealt with a recruit who was pissed about being disrespected on a message board. As far as I know, thats not happening on tigerdroppings.
Now, the coaching staff is getting blasted regularly on this board, and deservedly so. Don't kid yourself into thinking that recruits haven't already heard every negative thing about Miles/Crowton from other SEC coaches recruiting them. They don't have to come here to hear it.

Some of the criticism is deserved. Some is hysterical IMO.
And ideally we wouldn't see TD as a major source for negative opinions about the potential of the LSU program

I never thought I would say this, but it has come to the point that I think TD should be more like some other fan sites and ban the consistant negative posters. Have any of you ever been to a Bama site? You won't last five minutes over there if you start talking down the Bama program, coaches, players, recruits, ect. I like the freedom this site gives, but when it gets to the point to hurting the LSU program, something needs to be done.

They aren't scanning the message boards to determine where they are going. But they don't want to go to a place where bad things are being said about the program and coaches. If you can't see that, then something is wrong with you.

Dollar, i totally agree, however our opinion doesnt change the fact its happening. Keep in mind, these ARE young people. Its irrelevent WHO is posting the comments or WHY theyre being posted. None of this changes the outcome.

Let me ask you a question, if you are a recruit that is considering going to LSU and you came across this site where every post is negative towards the coaches (our coaches suck, don't know how to use young talent,LSU football is a sinking ship, blah, blah,) would you consider going to another school? Most recruits could care fricking less about the tradition of the school, for most recruits, it is about going to a school that gives you the best chance to get to the next level.
That being said, I love this site,and the freedom that it allows. I just think it is time for this site to clean house on the negative posters that NEVER have anything good to say about LSU football.
