Has money and LOVES LSU.

Anybody seen that huge fence that stretches alongside I49 few miles south of port city?

I guarantee you the thing is 200 yrs long and its prob 10-15 foot high, purple and gold and in the middle has some cool blown up LSU football pics on it.

Wish I had pics to share, its something to see.
Anyone else seen this>?

And right behind it is a couple deep wells in the Haynesville Shale... it is either a company or could have been in the agreement in the oil and gas lease

not a company. for at least the past 10 years, i.e. - before the Haynesville Shale, there has been something LSU related in that spot. before the wall was put up they just had a flag pole with an LSU flag and La. state flag.

whoever they are, they reprefrickinsent.

That is what I was thinking.... that fence is oil and gas type of money... thing could withstand a hurricane.. and the fence is color coordinated with LSU colors... I would love to have read that lease.

The sign of "Welcome to Tiger Country" is still there with the flag...and they used to have Hesters number 18 as well when he was playing... that is still there.

The fence that he is talking about is new with a couple new wells behind it.

yeah i know, i've seen it. i was just saying that even back in 2001 they had a modest flag pole with a simple LSU flag. doesn't really scream rich land-owners. my guess is they came into some money with a new oil/gas lease and decided to go all out with their LSU pride. works for me.

How far south on I-49? Would this be something that could be seen from the Google street map cams?

probably not. I think it's halfway between Natchitoches and Shreve. near the Ajax exit? anybody have a solid answer on this?

did some scouting. supposedly the property is owned by Frank Scott Moran, owner of Moran Oil Co. there's a 3-page thread about the Tiger Country sign on a La Tech message board.

LINK

there's some serious flaming and little brother insecurity going on over there.

It is a barrier wall for an oilfield drilling prep pad (in other words a drill site) The area behind it if you notice is clear cut...probabaly a high producing well area, and is under lease for a long period of time, therefore the landowner who as stated probably has a boatload of $$$ and is a big tiger fan...it is definitely cool to see though.
