New Vehicle Tax Rate.....

I used Google and found the General State Sales tax is 4%. However it also states that most parishes tack on an additional tax ranging anywhere from 1-5.5%. Does anyone know where I can find the rate for Lafourche parish?

If you live in Thibodaux proper, 8% total (city, parish, state).
Varies from 8%-9.2% based on your domicile.

Not sure but aren't car dealers obligated to charge the sales tax rate of the parish where the buyer resides?

Correct! I live in Lafourche so I need the Lafourche rate. I did a little more digging and it seems I am looking at 8.5%
