Next year, I'm afraid it will be a shell of itself.

IMO Tiger Stadium is getting by on its past glory. There was a time when it was indeed the most intimidating stadium in college football but that is no longer true. 33 people watching in the 4th quarter doesn't intimidate anyone.

It's absolutely the most intimidating venue in college football...until the game starts.

Tiger Stadium is getting by on past glory.

These fat-cats and play-pretend fans sitting in the lower bowl have ruined Tiger Stadium as an intimidating venue--thanks TAF.

I remember for example, as recently as 1996 when the south end zone was still an insane asylum and with LSU leading Kentucky 41-14 and the scrubs in, in the fourth quarter, the stadium still being loud and screaming for the defense not to let Kentucky score 20.

So don't anyone feed me this line of bullshite that people have "always" left Tiger Stadium in droves even in big SEC games.

I know better.

I was there.

It also has to do with the amount of nerd students that go to the games as well. Ever since LSU changed its admission policy a couple of years back the schools party scene for the game has become soft and leveled down.

I have been to four out of the five and would rank them as follows: Penn State, LSU, Florida. I have been to Wisconsin and would not even have them in the top 10 that I have visited. I can not speak on Oregon but I have been to Michigan and would have to rank them in the top 5 if they were to start winning again. Another great place would be West Virginia, those hillbillies love their football.

I was there too but that was when any win was special. We're elitist now and only the big games really matter

Couldn't have said it any better. The pregame atmosphere at Tiger Stadium is untouchable and is better than anywhere I've been. Then the game starts and people leave early for no reason. For big games our crowds are pretty outstanding. However, for the other 85% of our home games the fans suck.

2 things -

1 - without TAF - LSU would not have the facilities for the student athletes and would not be able to recruit as well.
2 - Since 1996 a lot has changed with television and televised games - I think a lot of people leave at the half and try to catch the 2nd half on TV

having no offense really makes people want to leave to. The only game where I really thought Lsu had momentum and was controlling the game was auburn.
