I'm the only one left in the locker room... pretty quiet in here but Keenan Allen left his iPod on and I can hear it off in the distance... his pre-game music of choice is 2Pac.

Markeith Ambles has an empty bottle of Five-Hour Energy in his locker.

Position meetings have just gotten underway in the West locker room. Long Beach Poly head coach Rual Lara just gave his DB's a few pointers about how to play the ball if they get beat by a East wide receiver.

The Pete Carroll storyline is obviously the topic of the day here at the U.S. Army Bowl. I'm going to do my best to pick up on some of the body language of some of Trojan commits in the locker room here before kickoff.

No surprise, but Detroit Cass Tech DB Dior Mathis was talking highly about Oregon in the locker room like he was already a Duck.

"Soldier Boy" is now blasting in the locker room as several of the West players are dancing and getting into it. I feel like I'm at a dance club right now.

Something else interesting I noticed with the West players is since the game's official apparel sponsor is Russell, anything NIKE had to be covered up with tape...meaning shoes and socks could be showing the swoosh logo.

Lots of texting and tweeting going on in the locker room. About half of the players for the West have their cell phones in hand.

The Army officials are now in the locker room. One of the Generals is now addressing the team.

With ESPN's report that Pete Carroll is officially gone, reaction has started to hit the West locker room. Let's just say Woodlands Hills (Calif.) running back and Trojan commit D.J. Morgan had some choice words to say about the news.

The General is talking to the players about how they are representing the United States today... telling them not to showboat today, play with pride and to make our soldiers proud of them.

The General told the team that the five things they need to be successful in life are belief, passion, preparation, team work and character.

The General just talked more about character and said Gilbert Arenas lacked "character" by bringing four guns into the Verizon Center.

Today's Army Bowl will be broadcasted in Iraq and Afghanistan to all the troops.

An official with the game just told the players that when they score a touchdown feel free to give the ball to a solider in the stands.

Lache Seastrunk just asked Coach Streety if he can lead the team prayer.

Coach Streety said special teams is the key to this game. The West has to be on their game with special teams if they want to win this game.

Coach Streety also preached ball security to his team. With a great defense like the West has, Streety said ball security will be key.

I don't care what people say about Lache, he's a little silly and quite a character but he's no prima donna and I think he has the makings to a great leader.

Seastrunk is giving a pregame speech/prayer to the team. He just did the same pregame prayer Nebraska does before all their games...

Dear Lord,
In the battles we go through life
We ask for a chance that's fair
A chance to equal all our strife
A chance to do or dare
And if we win,
Let it be by the code
With faith and honor held high
And if we lose,
Let us stand by the road
And cheer as the winners go by.
Day by day
We get better and better
A team that can't be beat
Won't be beat

Oregon could end up with a pretty serious class at the end of this deal.

I hope so but they need some d lineman, already lost Easley to Florida which was a huge lost. D line will be their only weakness next year really.

Do your thing Born. Lache getting that support from his hometown can only help.

It seems that these kids are taking this game a lot more serious than the Under Armor game.
