I don't think JJ learning curve is the problem. I think the teaching from the QB coach is the problem.

Someone said last night that he was the #2 QB recruit after USC's freshman, Barkley. So, he was much higher rated than JJ coming out of high school.

why must you compare ever qb to Jefferson(only to make him look bad) Gilbert is a different class of player he's going to be something special.

and even saying that did you even watch our bowl game, Jefferson did a complete 180 in the 2nd half of the Penn State game.

truth.

but to be fair, point me to a game where JJ was decisive in the pocket and read coverage quickly while getting to a 3rd receiver on a given play. blame coaching for what JJ hasn't done, but after starting for a year and a half, he should be further along than he is just by experience.

No flame intended...but that is not the point.
Jefferson, in 15 starts has not learned what this kid did in 1 QUARTER !!!
A lot might be mental and physical ability but lets face the biggest problem is ....coaching!

JJ is going to have to learn to take risks. A few INT's may be worth it to move the offense more often. The trade off this season wasn't worth it.

you are naive if you think gilbert's learning curve is over. he played like shite with the exception of a handful of plays where his OL gave him forever to throw it to the predetermined WR that got open against a safety in man coverage. bamas defco (kirby) got caught playing in a defence that he probably should have switched out of. even with texas stellar OL, he has a way to go. having said that, playing in the big 12 where only a hanful of teams value defence behind a stellar line and him being one talented and smart qb, he will be a good one.

Only when GG starts talking about Alabama disrespecting him will he be as great as JJ.
