Tim Fletcher was told LSU will fire Gary Crowton tomorrow

The local ABC tv sports announcer in Shreveport Tim Fletcher was told by a very reliable source yesterday L.S.U. is going to fire Gary Crowton tomorrow.
He said he made 3 hours of phone calls yesterday, L.S.U. officials did not deny the RUMOR. He also found out TAF officials went to Joe Alleva telling him there must be a change.
Did i do a German. Hey anyone in Shreveport, you know you heard what i heard, is this post totally accurate.
I do not recall if Tim gave a date when the TAF officials went to the Athletic Director.
This is all i remember

Is it all that surprising. Our defense last year was what around the 50's nationally and Miles made a change?
Our offense this year was only better than 8 teams out of 120.

FWIW I spoke to someone the other day who I think to be in the know and asked him directly about this and he was pretty tight lipped, and the only thing he really offered was that he felt at the end of the day Billy Gonzales would be named OC.
Again, not gospel, just something I heard......

I hope this is true! It will inject some life into this program and the fan base. For the first time since I can remember I am not at all excited about next season-actually dreading it.

That's been the rumor on a couple of other boards as well. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.

That is how I have felt, but if Crowton is gone, I am extremely excited about next fall and think we'll make it to Phoenix for the NC.

Tim would not give his source but did say this source never gave him wrong information in the past.
And he said he was going to spend most of today to verify the information and/or add on or deny it.
