This fond memory took place on September 2, 1979. James Mayberry intercepted it on the 6 yard line and ran it in. We lost 40-34 in overtime.

the sad thing about all of this is that russ was a good kicker in college-he just never "made it" at the next level. How many times have we seen this one?

I remember this well. Not too mention the Big Ben game also where we got drilled.

The way I remember it, John Mecom put pressure on Dick Nolan to take a 'Texas' boy, & that Rusell OOPSleben was going to be the next Ray Guy, who could do all the FG kicking as well! As it turned out, he wasn't even that great of a punter. We wasted a #1 draft pick on that idiot!! You wonder why we had so many failures through the years!!
