But are there any Crowton supporters left? If so, I'd really like to hear your argument for why he doesn't deserve to be fired.

ZTiger87 is a Crowton Crotcher.

The closest thing to a reason is how well our O played in '07. But if his approach is so talent intensive and chemistry sensitive we could be waiting a long time before we see a well-oiled machine out there.

I think he knows X's and O's. I don't think he understands adapting to personnel and he prefers the sensational to the simple but effective.

He's known since this past Spring what he had to work with and that's all he could come up with?

It's sad that we're probably gonna be stuck with him. I know this: if my production slid to near the worst in the country in my singular area of production, then I'd be out of a job.

Funny how it doesn't work that way in college football.

Please point out all the SEC coaches, both Head Coaches and Offensive Coordinators, who have won with freshman QBs.

Asking our coaches to walk on water is not right.

According to most LSU fans at the time, the worst OC in the history of LSU was Jimbo Fisher. Then he left to go to Fla St and overnight he became the best OC in the history of LSU.

Reminds me of LSU baseball losing 2 out of 3 games to Tennessee this past season, at home, when Tennessee had the worst record in the SEC. There were posters on here starting thread after thread about how Mainieri was in over his head, not ready for the SEC, couldn't motivate, didn't know how to handle his pitchers and on and on....

LSU fans have a long and proud tradition of eating their own. Damn shame, IMO....

To me this is amazing. When it comes to Miles, it seems the BEST you could be is in the "don't fire him yet" camp. Support just seems retarded.

Young qb and key players hurt.

Godfather, for some reason the Crowton & Miles lovers just don't want to see that. They keep excusing it but there is no reason in hell that LSU should finish that poorly on offense with the talent on the team.

There are plenty of reasons to support Crowton staying. It basically comes down to him putting together great offenses with JR and SR QBs. We should have had that the last 2 years. Kicking off a 5 star QB that has been on the team for 3 years tends to affect offensive performance, probably a lot more than people want to let on. He can't be blamed for that.

At the same time, his offenses have performed too poorly with FR and SO QBs. You can make a case that his passing game might not work in the SEC. We had issues getting plays called in time this year. We had issues in years past lining up correctly.

I think he deserves another chance, if anything just so he can see a QB he has recruited and coached to at least their JR year. I would have done what Les seems to have done. Look around for replacements, if not wowed by anyone, than keep Crowton, take some of his power away and have a mid/early season replacement already on the staff.

Jimbo wasnt that great though. He might make a better HC than OC.
