Shows is a loyal LSU guy and is probably the LSU MVP of High School Coaches. He's never going to say anything negative about the tigers, nor should he in his position.
His interest is in giving his players a chance to play at the next level and therefore he will always speak in a manner that reflects respect toward university coaches and especially LSU.
Fine man. He has placed several at LSU over the years and several in the NFL.

BTW, at the end of the first half of state champ game, WM qb runs 1 minute drill to perfection to get points. Yet LSU can't seem to master that.
Perhaps Don Shows should help our coaches out. Maybe?

Wait...so you are actually refuting what he said?
A wet field/bad weather reduces the advantage of the faster team...FACT. Granted, other things might have cost us the game but having our speed taken away didn't help...

I think he's correct actually.....TT doesn't drop those passes w/ a dry ball....our D is quicker and we run the ball better.
PSU was more physical....but the field helped them IMMENSLY.

I agree, LSU would have had at least another 30 yards of offense on a dry field.
All kidding aside, LSU would have won easily on a dry field...I seriously believe this..

There are really only a handful of important bowl games. This one was important for LM's future and fan relations.
However, what is a total travesty is when an NFL playoff game has to go through GB, Buffalo, New England, Chicago, etc. No way weather should decide an NFL playoff game.

Wait until the Giant's build their new stadium and you have a Super Bowl in February outside in New Jersey. That is going to suck.

U gotta be kidding me?? This team doesn't know how to win easily. What a joke, it's not like they dried the field when PSU had the ball?? I think we were lucky they kept us in it the second half!

There is no doubt we would have won that game on a dry and fast field. Guys, I know we are all pissed and have every right to be. We have won some ugly games this year and we lost some tuff ones as well. We were not blown out of any game, unlike last year. If and I mean if we had any offense we very likely could have been playing for a Championship. Maybe wishful thinking, but I don't think we are that far off as everyone is making us out to be, like we are done.

So how did we destroy all those other bowl opponents? I mean if you're going only by how bad we beat opponents during the season (mostly SEC)...then LSU hasnt really done a whole lot of that during Miles' tenure. Thus your statement makes no sense.
I too believe LSU wins fairly easily on a dry fast field. I had an unbiased friend (TCU fan actually) text me after the LSU-PSU game saying the field killed LSU's chances in that game.

I dont think so , there DL and OL dominated us. I also think if it were dry PSU would have connected on some of those passes too. Plain and simple LSU sucks. TCU and Boise would have kicked our arse. If we played MooU tomorrow , we lose.

You guys are right. How could I ever discount that statement?
A team that has averaged over 4 yards/rush in only 5 games of a 12 game season (opponents being Wash, Vandy, ULL, Tulane, and LaTech) would have obviously run roughshod over a clearly outmatched opponent in Penn State.
I'll go try and relocate my p&g glasses now.
