For those who say LSU schedules the easy ones.
2010 LSU is playing UL Monroe and McNeese St for out of conference.
Alabama has San Jose State,Duke, and Georgia State. Florida has Miami of Ohio,USF, and Applachian State.
If you look this year Flordia is 13-1 and Alabama is undefeated. They had the same schedule plus a bye before they played LSU.

The way we're playing, I'm not sure any OOC schedule would be considered 'easy'.

LSU's out of conference is harder than just McNeese and ULM they play NC and West Virginia. I think I'm missing the point here though

We also have UNC and West virginia. And I'm pretty sure UF has Florida State. And bama's last 6 SEC opponents have bye weeks before playing them. Nobody has it easy.

next year...both LSU and Bama have byes before we play each other.

hoping a hurricane doesn't screw that up.

Damn really? That's odd scheduling by the SEC.

I think everyone has missed his point. He was listing the gimmes that we scheduled not the marquee matchups. Everyone schedules some cupcakes including bama and florida

It makes sense. If you already play in the toughest conference your chances of making the championship game isn't great each year. The more tough games you pile on top of that, the worse your odds are.

I think LSU scheduling NC and Bama scheduling PSU is pretty good. They don't need that game to improve their strength of schedule.

Look at the Texas OOC schedule from 2009. ULM, Wyoming, UTEP, UCF.

Lots of teams do this. It makes sense. OU was out of the BCS game by their first game against BYU. They had nothing to gain by playing that game.

I agree, it definitely makes sense. Let LSU or Alabama play Boise's schedule and see if they lose 1 game maybe. Yeah LSU scheduled some easy in states but with the sec schedule plus wvu and north carolina, its a really tough schedule. Probably top 5 in the country.

Let Patterson or Peterson coach LSU maybe and see if LSU has better than the 112th offense. Maybe we get the same wins for 2 million less a season?

That's a circular argument.

So, you'd be satisfied winning the same amount of games if we paid the HC less?
