Russell -
Completions/Attempts - 188 for 331 (60.5%)
Yards - 2443
TD's - 15
INT's - 9
QB Rating - 136.56

Jefferson -
Completions/Attempts - 182 for 296 (61.5%)
Yards - 2166
TD's - 17
INT's - 7
QB Rating - 137.18

The way the majority of people on this board think (and sadly talk), they probably think Jefferson couldn't play for their local high school team.

Like I said in an earlier thread, the sky is not falling.

Stay positive, the future is very bright.

That's great, but all I care about now is next year. Maybe that shows he's improving or something.

Unless Jefferson can learn how to coach, this argument is useless.

All valid points. Russell had Jimbo as his QB coach though, so in the end, it really doesn't matter. I have confidence in JJ. I don't have confidence in his QB coach.

If you've read this board at all this past season, you know good and well that this thread is beating a dead horse, and that these statistics have been brought up over and over again, ad nauseum.

Thanks Rohan. I've lurked for some time so I'm aware of the rantardation and how rational (and god forbid, positive) thought is treated on this board.

This doesn't address the lack of a running game we've had all season or the lack of plays by our offense all season, time of possession, lack of scoring, etc. The problem isn't with the QB but with the coaching and play calling.

Why not? Because of J Lee?

I like Jefferson. I'd just like to see him make his decisions quicker and not take so many costly sacks.

I would agree that there are other issues, namely offensive line play. One stat I didn't include was sacks, and Jefferson (who is obvioulsy more mobile than JaMarcus) was sacked 34 times this year versus only 21 for Russell. O-Line HAS to improve.

JJ has no where near the natural talent that JR has

That doesn't mean he can't be a great QB, just pointing out that JR is a rare talent

Jefferson doesn't deserve to be compared to JaMarcus. He deserves better than that.

I'll add another. Two that played under the same OC.

Flynn (BCS/MNC MVP Year)
Comps/Att 202 for 359
Yards 2407
Yards per attempt 6.71
TD - 21
Int - 11
Sacks - 26
QB Rating - 125.76

Jefferson 2009
Completions/Attempts - 182 for 296 (61.5%)
Yards - 2166
Yards per att - 7.32
TD's - 17
INT's - 7
Sacks 34
QB Rating - 137.18

I've been hearing about all these other great and more capable QBs in the nation, but they've by and large disappeared in these money games (with the exception of Tebow, Pryor, Landry Jones, TTech QBs).

Get a clue. The JR you see on Sports Center is not the JR that played at LSU in 2006. I suggest that you watch the 2007 Sugar Bowl or the game against ULL or even the game against the University of Arizona.
