"I don't know that it's a big deal, but it's more than just a little blip. As good as New Orleans has been all season long, for the last month they've not been good. They should've lost to Washington in Week 13 if Washington makes a field goal, and they easily could've lost to Atlanta in Week 14. Now, they've lost two in a row.

I think there's a real concern right now for that team. You just wonder what they internally think of their team right now as they get through this last weekend and into the playoffs.

They must be doubting themselves a little bit as they go into the playoffs."

I couldn't disagree more.

PS: Sorry if already posted. Didn't see it.

I haven't heard any hint of doubt from Brees or anyone else. It's just performance, just do it. They can go one and out and it was a great regular season like the '07 Pats. They can win 3 straight in the postseason and it's the greatest season in NOLA history. The rest and recovery from injuries outdoes any doubt factors IMO. I wanna see what the Cowturds could do against Porter/Greer instead of a rookie and a washed up vet. (nada btw)

PS- Aikman

While I can't hope we face the Cowboys (if it means they'll have finally won a playoff game), I hope we'd fare better the second time around.

I just can't imagine the team doubting itself right now. We're 13-2. We're finally going to be healthy. And when healthy, we haven't been beaten.

He hit the nail right on the head.

We haven't looked like the 1 seed in over a month. No way those players have the same exact mindset right now as they did in week 12.

Do tell, what does one of these "1 seeds" "look like"?

Lol. 13-2. That's what a 1 seed looks like. There are ups and downs, injuries, and healing on every team, every year. We went through a rough spot, but to say we don't look like a "1 seed...." That's dumb.

To bad for him the should've/could've game doesn't work when discussing the NFL. Every team would finish the season .500

A 1 seed looks like the best team in the conference because that is what their record dictates they are.

We certainly have not looked like a 13-2 team this past month. We have looked like a 1-3 team.

I know that may be tough to wrap your mind around, but give it a shot.

Aikman is just pissed with New Orleans because he couldn't get anyone at Oz to dance with him last tie he was in NOLA

While I am not fully sold on the Saints, Aikman is an utter idiot. The Saints are 13-2 with the most WINS against teams with winning records by a 2 game advantage (6) over all the other teams in the NFC side of the playoffs.

The Cowboys have 3 at most. Philly lost to OAKLAND who is just as bad as Tampa Bay. Green Bay? Lost to Tampa Bay. Minnesota has 4 losses three 2 blowouts and a loss to a shitty Bears team. They've lost 3 of their last 4.

Saints lost to one shitty team and one playoff team, both by less than a TD and one in OT with injuries having an effect.

That's what the Saints are. Thanks for helping me get my mind around it.

You're right, the Saints are clearly playing the best football in the NFC right now because they are 13-2.

A loss the the Bucs and Cowboys, both at home, coupled with poor performances and near losses to the miserable Redskins and depleted Falcons, shows how awesome we have been.

No cause for concern.

Concern? I'm concerned every time the Saints take the field. That's why I watch/attend. There is concern because on any given Sunday anything can happen.

But this thread is not about whether we, as fans, have concerns that the Saints are or aren't playing the best football in the league at any given moment. It is about whether the Saints, as individual players and/or as an organization, have doubts as to whether they can win in the playoffs. This is the best Saints team ever. I just don't think they doubt their abilities to match up against anyone. You do. Fair enough.

BTW, even if we were having the conversation you imagine, your rationale is flawed. By your "what have you done for me lately" logic, the Bucs, at 2-0 over the last two weeks, are playing better football than the Vikings, Saints, Colts, Jags, Ravens, Broncos, Bengals, and Packers...each of which has lost a game in the last two. I'm sure these teams are "concerned" as well. Clearly the Bucs are playing better football than each of these teams. Thank God we don't have to see them again this year!

It's not flawed logic as long as the Bucs are erasing their internal doubts by winning two straight when the Saints' are increasing due to losing two straight.

Like you said, it's the players' internal doubts we're talking about, not the fans.

Are the Bucs playing better football? Maybe not. But I imagine they felt better about the way they played in those two games than the Saints did after their last two.

I don't care about doubt. It's wins and losses. The Saints are a great team with a good shot at the SB. But during the final three weeks, they are one of the 3-4 worst playing teams in the entire NFL, which is more than the other 2-3 teams can state.
