Did not exist. I hear people say this all of the time, so I just looked up the players from Louisiana who made the Rivals 100 from 2002-2004 (data prior to 2002 does not exist).

2002
# 50 - Justin Vincent from Lake Charles: LSU
# 67 - Lester Ricard Jr. from Denham Springs: LSU
# 76 - Akieem Jolla from New Orleans: Miami-FL
# 81 - Chase Pittman from Shreveport: Texas (Eventually transferred to LSU)
# 83 - Jonathan Wade from Shreveport: Tennessee
# 99 - Kyle Williams from Ruston: LSU

2003
# 32 - Robert Lane from Monroe: Ole Miss
# 41 - Nick Child from Metairie: LSU
# 42 - Alley Broussard from Lafayette: LSU
# 66 - Carnell Stewart from River Ridge: LSU
# 87 - LaRon Landry from Hahnville: LSU

2004
# 3 - Early Doucet from St. Martinville: LSU
# 47 - Glenn Dorsey from Gonzales: LSU
# 71 - Ryan Miller from Lake Charles: LSU
# 72 - Marlon Favorite from Harvey: LSU

Over Saban's last three years at LSU, he lost 25% of Louisiana's top recruits. Miles, on the other hand, has lost three out of eighteen (17%) in the five years that he has been here. If there ever was a fence, Miles has evidently made it stronger.

I'm not a huge Miles supporter, but some of you people have the most selective memory that I have ever seen.

how many of em had LSU offers? Even if Lane did, I think he knew what he was doing by taking Russell and Flynn ahead of him Really terrible post. None of the guys LSU "missed" on did much.

I might be wrong, but Child and Ricard both transferred from LSU later on.

True, but they were obviously thought to have some talent at the time, based on their rankings/offers.

He built a 4 foot fence. Miles elevated it to a 10 foot fence.

Nicky doesn't have an LA recruit committed this year yet- so much for his invasion of LA.

LSU recruits itself as long as the team is good.

Those were probably just the ones y'all didn't want like Robby Green, Luther Davis, and the others Saban has at Alabama today.

wasn't that b/c of saban's improper contact w/ wade that LSU couldn't recruit him or something?

That's where you are wrong. When Saban was coach we won every game 150-0. We were national championships ten years in a row and we used to pay second tier blue chippers not to come to LSU. It's all on that website www.sabanisnotcomingback.com

i wouldn't call Saban not being allowed to recruit him anymore after getting caught "accidentally" visiting him at school not having an offer

this was a result of Sabans 2003 NC, not the hiring of Miles in 2004

Joe McKnight, Robby Green, Luther Davis, the Reed kid Auburn just got, etc must be pretty athletic to get over that fence
