This guy seems like an awesome LB prospect. Forget rankings and forget starts. this guy is 6'4 225 lbs and runs a 4.55. He has a 3.2 gpa with a 22ACT score.
However, thats not the best part. This guy is playing CB in highschool. Now I know that its highschool but you have to be some kind of athletic to play that position.
So what I see when I read this is:
A smart guy, who is fast and athletic that can cover people and likes to play defense. This sounds like a very athletic LB with good speed.

Why are we not going after this guy?
He has alot of offers from big schools except from Bama and LSU.

He's been more of a basketball player his whole career. Interest may heat up in the backstretch though because he had a good senior year. From the outset he said wanted to be recruited to play b-ball first and then football... we'll see if his tune changed...

Well, considering the limit on #s, we already have Muncie, Welter, Maclin. We have other positions of need that we must fill at this time rather than taking another LB.

However, it seems as if the coaches have been looking hard at anther LB. So Swilling may just end up here. Not sure of the coaches LB Board at this time, But before we commit to offering Swilling, we will probably wait to see if we can make the numbers work (aka.. we will wait to see who else we can sign at greater positions of need).

Those measurables are very generous.

Also, not very fond of contact. Saw him play against West Monroe. Wasn't a factor.

If LSU accepts his commitment in football, I will no longer be an LSU fan.

Click on Watch on the side of the Brother Martin game.

First clip at the 53:45 mark.

Second gem at the 1:16:30 mark.

Watch #10

yeah, he would have to be on football scholarship if he intended on playing, i'm just saying i think basketball was his first priority originally and he may be realizing he's got no shot as a 6'4 post player in the future.

Sadly, if his name was Pat Williams, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I would absolutely love this kid at LSU. Of course I am selfish because he is my neighbor.

He actually ran away from the ball carrier. His old man must have worn him out for that
