Does anyone really think Crowton is leaving? Les is out there filling in assistant coach vacancies with top notch guys. A new OC would want his own Assistants. Is Les hiring these guys temporarily until a new OC comes? No...He is telling them the Coaching Roster is stable and Crowton will be the OC!!!

Here is an alternative possibility...
Instead of having an OC, he will have coaches for each individual oart of the O picture..
i.e, an OL line coach, a QB coach, a WR coach...
and all plans go thru Miles...who would act as the OC

after all..it is his butt and reputation, on the line

Hasn't this been happening for the last five years anyway?

Apparently not in the Ole Miss game because he said Crowton called the passes on the last drive and Miles didn't overrule the calls.

ummm no

Crowton had complete control of this offense. LOok at the play calling. Its pretty obvious who coming up with these stupid plays to try to trick teams instead of being physical up front and running a pro style attack like Miles had done before.

Did we hire Cooper and Haley before Chavis last year? I am really asking, my memory is that we did, but I am not sure.

I know with 100% certainty that Crowton was calling the plays this season.

Miles called his own plays at OSU though, and led them to their greatest offensive output in their history

coordinators seldom bring in their own guys...assistants, especially those who coach key positions, are very important recruiters, thus the head coach is typically going to get who he wants at those spots.

You really can't help but be a dumbass huh?
Some of you idiots always seem to know EVERYTHING! You're probably a guy that'll sit and discuss the previous night's game and claim how you'd have done things so differently. You know...like...if LSU gave up only 3 points in the game....you'd have found a way for the other team NOT to score those 3 points! Come to think of it, why aren't you coaching the LSU football team? Seriously.....not enough money in it for you?

He's filling in assistants because they are leaving. Miles wouldn't let Crowton go before the bowl game, so it's still not completely 100% he is staying. But I don't think he is going to be let go

Or he has someone lined up to replace crowton after the bowl/NFL seasons are over, and that guy is picking his coordinaters.

The point is you have no idea what is going on let alone exactly what is going to happen. The inferrence that crowton is staying is only one of many that you can make from the same set of facts.

Hind sight is 20/20...6 of one, half a dozen of the other...blah blah blah! We can always come up with a solution AFTER the problem has occured. In the heat of the moment, even the best do make mistakes. I'm NOT defending anyone for any "blunders". However, we ALL make mistakes at some point and time in our lives! I've made tons of 'em. It's not how hard you fall but how well you get up and recover in my opinion.

With that being said, what's holding back this "average fan" from being a head coach, even moreso, just a coach in general, on the college level. Specifically on a level that of LSU? Absolutely NOTHING! Sooooo with that being said, please submit your application to Aleva so you can be considered for the "clock manager" during game time. I'd bet you wouldn't last a half, and even less in a nut cuttin' time period like the Ole Miss and Arkansas games! I don't see any lines for applications yet. What's the hold up?
Let's see, according to all accounts on here, we need a "proven" and mistake free robot for the following position coaches:
OC
WR
OL
QB
I'll go out on a limb with this one and say HC too

So all viable candidate please submit your applications to Aleva and get started with ALL responsibilities involved. Those that get accepted will immediately be under the microscope and we can truly see all of these solutions, ideas, pipe dreams, brick wall defenses, precision 100 point per game offenses, 125 yd. NET punting games, 125 yd. KOR's/PR's, 75 yd. FG's, negative 500 yds. for KO/PR coverage teams, every kick being a touchback on North Stadium Drive, every punt being downed on the opponents .5 yd. line regardless of where the punter is punting from, 35 sacks and INT's per game for the defense, 75 yd per rush avg. for the RB's, 107 yds. per catch and throw for the WR's and QB's games EVERY game,........is there anything I'm missing here?

Sorry for the rant and all of those acronyms!

he's getting paid millions to not make those mistakes. I have never seen a game managed that poorly before

you're right, there has never been a coach in history that should be criticized because they are coaching football and we are not . I guarantee you that I could have made the timeout call without letting 20 seconds run off the clock. It was probably the worst spectacle of coaching that I have ever seen, and I'm a Saints fan.

its pretty sad when all of the drunk fans in the stands know that a timeout should be called.

you may be one the dumbest people alive

I don't think I have ever said that I know more about football than Miles, but he has made mistakes that an elite coach shouldn't

why don't you just address what I've written instead of throwing out stupid fricking scenarios. How about you address the issues that I've written out instead of dodging them all with your stupid bullshite. No shite we couldn't do a better job, but the fans are the reason he has the job.

there is a reason he is the laughing stock of the country right now

For all any of us know Les Miles has already hired a new offensive coordinator but it hasn't been announced because it won't happen till after the bowl games/nfl season is over.

I believe it was all orchestrated at once:

Listen a-hole, I very well said I'm not defending anyone's blunders! It seems that I've struck a nerve relative to your obvious stupidity and ignorance! Simply put, YOU are the dumbass! YOU are the one getting deffensive. Not me. So with that being said, you can come up with all of your vile and propaganda you want, I still stand by my initial thoughts that you're a dumbass and one of those that's just not happy with life itself unless you're bitching about something!

Now, should Billichek(sp?) be fired for his "stupidity" against the colts? He's making a ton of money also!

There's also a reason dumbasses like YOU are the laughing stock of this board and cause LSU fans to have a bad rap!
Were you complaining this much when $aban had his debacle against UAB when the team HE was coaching, that QB in particular at the time, decided to change the play all on his own? Keep in mind, $aban WAS supposed to be coaching and preventing things like that from happening.

Either way, I've apparently struck a nerve with you.
Now run away and try to think of more childish babble to come back at me with.

And by the way, my (initial) post in this thread was speaking in general. It wasn't necessarily directed at you in particular. But since you decided to open up that can of worms....
