Larger Pockets? LSU or U of Florida?

A friend of mine and I are arguing over who's athletic dept has the most money. I say LSU, he says FLorida. I remember hearing/reading that LSU athletics is separate from the University or something of the sorts. He is a fricking Florida fan so I like proving him wrong as much as possible.
FWIW, I was ragging him that LSU took Floridas WR coach right from them. He says that if he was worth a crap they would pay him to stay. Hence the debate over who's pockets are deeper.

But, LSU's dept has made more money over the last 10 years as a football program.
There are A LOT of deep pockets that are UF alumni. A LOT.

Hell, just think about the money gatorade makes for the university alone.
The shite that the royalties from gatorade have funded are probably astonishing.

Rather than just asking the jokers on here, you might want to do actual research before you rather concede.
Though they are probably right.

Any of you have any links to back up what you're saying?

UF - 89 M/ yr athletic budget
LSU - 76 M/ yr athletic budget
Both athletic depts are seperate from the university in terms of finances. The difference lies in that LSU must give back 5% of its gross budget back to the university (which equates to about 30% profit margin). LSU athletics also pays for many of the parking lots.
LSU couldnt even send its full band to an SEC game this year, yet they make more than FL?
Because of LSU's budget crunch, they auctioned off everything at Alex Box field and hosting a coutry music fest in Tiger Stadium at the end of May just to make ends meet. From the concert, LSU gets $4 from each ticket sold plus concessions (which will include beer being sold)

Florida has deeper pockets but not that much deeper.

They have a larger athletic budget and a much larger endowment. What else needs to be said? Not to mention it's pretty much common sense to assume UF has the deeper pockets compared to LSU.

I hate country music, but I heard this sold out pretty quickly. Shouldn't they do things like this more often? I always thought they could make a killing off doing an annual LSU Football tour thing like they do with the Lady Tigers 101. How many guys wouldn't pay for themself or their kids to run out of the tunnel?
