What's a good counter to agressive Defensive lineman who are always in your backfield? The running back screen. Would this help our inept offensive line who can't seem to keep the opposing lineman out of our backfield?
What say ye?

We tried to run some screens this year, we either threw the ball before it fully developed or it was blown up from the start. We are definitely not a very good screen team.

or just light a fire under our o-lines arse, make them more synced and quick off the snap. quit drag assing and be physical. our o- line seems lazy and sloppy screens don't help that, they still have to work to make a screen develop.

How about replacing some of the O-Linemen to sent a message that their position is not secure and they can watch the game from the bench. Backups worked well in Tulane game. Even Doug Moreau said on the radio broadcast that the backups performed better than the starters. He noted they were playing against Tulane 1st string defense.

the starters put up 35 points and the 2nd team guys put up 7 on a 60 yard drive. Stop talking about the tulane game, what about la tech? Do you think with the 2nd team guys in that the offense played well?

You would think that consistently poor pass-blocking would equate to an easier "sell" to the opposing defense, and subsequently "set up" the screen, hot route, or draw play. The fact that timing has appeared so helter-skelter in almost every facet of the offensive game this past year (play-calling, poor blocking schemes, execution failure by Oline and QB, and generally poor touch by JJ on throwing the ball) - all result in limited to -0- success. When we ran it, it appeared to be "telecasted" to everyone.

Apparently, you didn't watch or listen to the game. The replacements started on the 2yd line and drove 98yds with Ridley getting 74yds on the ground.

Yep. Seems like with this OL, every pass play is a potential screen.

they would if the o-line knew there assignments and the qb would let the play develop before tossing the ball behind or over the receiver and/or the receiver catches it.

it can and will work with better coaching and better position play.

We had 282 rushing yards that game. So the other approx 200 yards rushing and 35 points the offense put up prior to that wasn't impressive? I would hope we could move the ball against that team. How about only putting up 140 yards against la tech when your grandson started the whole game. La Tech had 180 yds rushing. You are a broken record talking about Tulane....its Tulane for christ sake

O-Line needs a new coach plain and simple. The one time they did play their hearts out(end of Georgia) they were all throwing up and cramping, sure signs of playing way harder than you practice.

Wtf does Miles do in the offseason? 70 miles down the road he could learn from one of the best screen teams in the NFL.

I thought this too, but in post game they said it wasn't, also it seemed to be localized to the offensive line.
