he either got the raise or they told him they weren't giving him another one.

I am sure they informed him that they remember the Nebraska episodes and are not going to fall for it like Arkansas

Since he went from #4 to a 4-4 SEC record and got beatdown by MSU, I'm guessing they wished him luck at Kansas.

3 wins against LSU in his last 3 games against them. He may not be the best coach in the SEC but he is better than Les. (Yes, im fully aware that Les has rings which he won with Saban's talent) HDN is winning with O's talent. But the fact is....

Saban's recruit>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>O's Recruits.

O never recruited the O Line (except for Oher) or the Def Backfield well. Both are needed to win things like SEC Championships or even to go above 500 in the SEC

You're an idiot. While Nutt certainly has some strange ability to make Miles his bitch, we weren't playing with Saban's recruits this year. I think Charles Alexander was the only player on the roster recruited by Saban. And Miles had a better season against a tougher schedule than Nutt did. Miles isn't the best coach in the SEC, but I would take him over Houston Nutt any single day of the week.

I wasnt referring to the talent on this years LSU squad. But the talent on the team Miles coached in his first couple years at LSU. When Miles won the National and SEC titles. Because of Sabans talent and Nutt go us to two Cotton Bowls because of O's

But sadly, will continue to embarrass LSU on an annual basis.

I wouldn't say Nutt is much of a better coach than Miles, and Nutt definitely isn't a good coach. It is embarrassing to lose to him every year.

What a coach. More on the Nutt:

BCS chances attracted Ole Miss coach to KU job

quote:

Houston Nutt remains the football coach at Ole Miss, but only after extensive conversations with chancellor Dr. Dan Jones and athletic director Pete Boone over the past 24 hours convinced him that the program was still headed in the right direction.

First off — this thing wasn’t about money at all,” said Nutt, who has a 17-8 record in two seasons with the Rebels. “But we needed to make sure we were all on the same page. They assured me that we were.”

quote:

Nutt said he doesn’t see himself as a serial job hunter, even though his name has come up often in coaching searches over the past several years. When he was at Arkansas, Nutt was reportedly courted by Nebraska, but decided to stay with the Razorbacks.

quote:

“I think if you do the research, you’ll find out that I never instigated these conversations with other schools,” Nutt said. “Jimmy (Sexton) (Nutt’s agent) wasn’t out there beating down doors. He didn’t even know Kansas had contacted me until I called him.

quote:

Nutt said he did not make any demands during his conversations with Boone and Jones. Nutt has occasionally been critical of the school’s academic policies.

When UM offensive linemen Bradley Sowell and John Jerry were suspended a game for academic issues, the coach said he would have been able to handle things differently at Arkansas, but his hands were tied because of the school’s academic policies.

Nutt said no specifics were discussed, but academics would be very important part of building the program. The Rebels lose three scholarships for the upcoming recruiting class because of a low APR score, largely a by-product of the Ed Orgeron era.

“That hurts us,” Nutt said. “We’ve got to get that corrected and I know we will. We have to win here. We’re not naive enough to think we don’t have to win. This is a tough conference.”

quote:

Nutt admitted that part of the pull of the Kansas job was that it could provide an easier path to a Bowl Championship Series game. The SEC is widely considered the toughest conference in the country from top to bottom and Nutt must compete with the likes of Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Arkansas and Mississippi State in the Western Division.

“It crosses your mind that it might be easier to get to that championship game,” Nutt said. “But I’ve been in the SEC for so long. There’s nothing like a Saturday afternoon in the SEC. No disrespect (to the Big 12), but there’s nothing like it.”

No Egg Bowl this year. What chance USM and Ole Miss ever play again on the football filed?

If nothing else he sent a message to Ole Miss that he had other courters if they were no longer interested. This time Sexton used one of these for job security. Sexton is a friggin tool and a half.
