One of the players would have had to think very fast. But had someone done that aganst Ole Miss that would have stopped the clock and we could have kicked the FG. Hell if I would have been the coach and thought about it, I would have told a player to do it.

I think there is an automatic 15 second run off of the clock or something like that if it happens with under 2 minutes left.

I dont think they can run out the clock because of an injury. Was it Hester.

No, it was Flynn against Bama two years ago. It was right after Doucet completed a pass to him.

This is correct. I'm not sure about the exact time they run off, though.

I thought so too, but someone on here said that that was an NFL rule. There was some NCAA rule cited where it's left up to the discretion of the refs if a player is faking and they can throw a flag though.

Jrvdamac, that was a heads up play. what about the 15 second run off? Do you know if that is true?

I think Flynn's was an equipment issue (broken chinstrap). Hester was just kinda gassed after his GW TD.

There would be a run off if you're out of t.o.'s I believe. And I think it's 10 seconds.

But I never recall a game ending with the clock being run out because of a penalty.

It was Flynn. He realized his chin strap broke and went to the ground holding his knee or ankle.

Hester did fake an injury after scoring the big TD against UF in 07. Vaguely recall him mentioning an equipment failure so he faked the injury.

faking an injury is just as bad or worse then having an equipment problem........ if you are injured you must come out of game for a play or call a timeout...... think its same with equipment
