WHAT TO LOOK FOR

New Orleans Saints at Washington Redskins ● Sunday, December 06, 2009

・ If the Saints win today, it would mark their 12th win of the season and would be the third time they’ve won 12 games. They previously finished 12-3 in 1987 and 12-4 in 1992.

・ A Saints win or tie or an Atlanta Falcons loss or tie would clinch the NFC South division title for the Saints and a playoff berth.

・ The Saints have scored 407 points in 2009, the fifth-highest total in club history. The Saints will have a chance to move up on the list today with 413 points, being the fourth-highest, 422 being the third-highest and 432 being the second-highest. The club record is 463 in 2008.

・ The Saints have scored 53 touchdowns in 2009, the second-highest total in club history with the highest being 57 in 2008.

・ QB Drew Brees has 27 touchdown passes in 2009, tied for the second-highest total in club history. With one score, he would be tied with his 2007 total of 28 for the second-highest. He owns the club record with 34 touchdown tosses in 2008.

・ With 115 career touchdown passes as a Saint, Brees is currently tied with Archie Manning for second-place on the club’s all-time list. With one scoring pass, he will move into sole possession of second.

・ Brees has 195 touchdowns in his NFL career to rank 36th all-time. With two touchdown passes he would move into a tie for 31st place with Ken Anderson past Steve DeBerg, Joe Ferguson, Bobby Layne and Norm Snead.

・ Brees has 29,375 passing yards to rank 35th all-time in NFL history in passing yardage. With 70 yards, he will surpass Roman Gabriel into 35th place.

・ RB Mike Bell has 564 rushing yards on the season. With 114 rushing yards, he would surpass his career-high of 677 set in his rookie season with the Denver Broncos in 2006

・ WR Marques Colston has 263 receptions for 3,808 yards to rank seventh on the club’s all-time list for receptions and fifth in receiving yardage. With four grabs, he would move into a tie for sixth with Hoby Brenner. With 42 receiving yards, he would move past Brenner into fourth place on the club’s all-time list for y7ardage

・ S Roman Harper has a team-leading 99 tackles in 2009. With one stop he will reach the century mark for the second consecutive season. With eight stops he would surpass his career-high of 106 that he set last year.

・ WR Devery Henderson has 16 career touchdown receptions to tie with Dave Parks and Torrance Small for ninth on the club’s all-time list. With one scoring grab, he would move into sole possession of ninth.

・ CB Chris McAlister has 492 career tackles. With eight stops, he will reach 500 for his career.

・ S Pierson Prioleau has 147 career special teams tackles. With three, he will reach 150 for his career

・ S Darren Sharper’s eight interceptions have accounted for 355 yards in returns, which ranks second on the NFL single-season list behind the 358 yards in returns by the Ravens’ Ed Reed in 2004

・ Sharper has 62 career interceptions in his career, to tie with Dick LeBeau and Dave Brown for seventh all-time in NFL history. With one pick, he will move into a tie with Ronnie Lott for sixth.

・ Sharper has returned 11 interceptions for touchdowns in his career to rank second all-time. With one more interception return for a touchdown, he would move into a tie for first with Rod Woodson

・ DE Will Smith has ten sacks. With one takedown he would set a new career-high surpassing his prior high of 10.5 set in 2006.

・ TE Jeremy Shockey has 461 receptions for 5,187 receptions in his career. He is currently tied among tight ends for 11th all time in receptions with Todd Christensen. Trap game written all over it. I've had a bad feeling about this one for a few days now. Not trying to be a nega Saint.

The Redskins have a pretty good pass defense. I say the Saints win this one something like 27-17.

Washington has been playing better ball as of late. However, if we stay on top of our game...Redskins are, well...skinned!

Bring it on bitches. Our pass d is legit as frick and Haynesworth should be back. I've been pessimistic as hell all season about the team but they have played their hearts out last 2 weeks. Too bad the offense blows. If we somehow could score 24+ points this weekend I'd say we would pull off an upset. I hope GW blitzes the shite out of Campbell causing an emotional breakdown.

With that being said, you guys are the class of the NFC.

I don't feel good about this one.

Meaning we'll probably win by 30.
