"I have a lot of friends on that team that I feel I let down because I left them in a situation so that they had to play young guys. The reason LSU has been so successful is they always had a guy who started (at quarterback) a year or two while the other guys were molded and shaped up. That's been the cycle there and I broke that cycle.

I made bad decisions and put them in bad situations. It's been two years now, though, and they've had time to regroup. Last year, it was fine for (fans) to say if I had been there it would have been different because I had just left. They've been through a whole spring, a whole off-season and a whole year now and I can't do anything about that."

Players with less talent and more baggage have been drafted.

RP will be drafted

He was also asked about his draft prospects..."I don't make those decisions. I'm not trying to say I'm the best player in the country or anything like that. I've been through a lot and people would say I've got a lot of baggage. It's all going to come down to whether I can lead an NFL football team and I think I can. I definitely think I have the ability to do so."
