I do not believe that Les will be fired this year, If he cannot recover next year...He will be. So I was looking for realistic options for next year.

NONE - If we win our last 2 that is a 10 win season albeit against lesser competition. IMO the SEC is down this year, but who knows what will happen when bowl season is over. The fact that we had an opportunity to win ALL of our games pisses-off the RANT. But we have to be real. This team will be average for another year. Some of us predicted a 4 loss season, but none of us thought UGA and Ole Piss would be this bad. LSU is clearly as talented as FLA and Bama, but we are not coached-up otherwise we would have beaten those teams and not ourselves.
With that said 10 wins is pretty damn good.

On Changes...
According to the RANT earlier this year GC is a GREAT OC. I was crucified. I want all of the RANTERS who blasted those of us that quoted numbers from Crowton's seasons in MW or SAC 10 whereever he was to stand-up and eat "CROW".

If Charlie Weis gets fired from ND why not try to get him for OC. He sucks as head coach but ND has a good offense they just suck on Defense. He was great OC at New England

Just what we need, another scheme that takes years to implement. Go back and take a look at Clausens first year. I believe they were 3-9.

Whoever they hire, I want them to:

1) Get out of the damn spread/wildcat/whatever you want to call it. Everybody runs it now, so the defenses are catching up with it, not to mention that Jefferson is a sitting duck back there.
2) Line up in a pro set and/or I formation, get some lineman who can block (plus a new O-line coach), insert a big fullback in front of Ford and Ridley, then pound the ball down some people's throats.
3) Get rid of the "read" option. Jefferson has real problems making that read (particularly when you keep running it into the boundary). Instead, roll him out (sprint-out, bootleg or waggle action) and give him the option to run or pass. He looks much more comfortable with that kind of scheme.

Pete Mangurian for OL coach. I was an undergrad at LSU in the late 80's when he was at LSU. There is no one better.

Ah, but we do. And his name? Gary Crowton. He's screwing us in 2 different ways.

LSUBarry emailed me a copy of Sonny's chat. There might be more of chance than you think.

That had nothing to do with Weiss offense taking years to implement. That had to do with a true freshman qb and no talent at the other ten spots.

Weiss's first two years at ND their offense was very good.

That said Weiss will go back to the NFL.
