I have been a Miles supporter since he started. I have defended him many times and have never joined the tards on this board in bashing him. However, he lost me after this weekend. He has proven he is not a big time coach, and LSU is a big time school now.

With that being said, we need to take a page from Florida and fire the guy before serious damage is done. UF dumped Zook early and probably have very few regrets about it.

As for his replacement, I REALLY like Brian Kelly. Go to Cinny web page and read the guys resume. He wins. He has proven he can develop talent and shows passion on the sideline. I believe this is the year he have to get him. Notre dame, Michigan, georiga, and possibly south Carolina could be shopping for a coach the next two years. I hope Alleuva has the insight and balls to pull the trigger. Unfourtunately, I get no say so in the matter

sorry for the spelling, sending from Iphone

Nebraska called about the "fire him before it gets too bad theory", and wanted me to let you know that it's not all it's cracked up to be. Frank Solich also left a message affirming what Nebraska just said.

PS: We don't have Tim Tebow waiting in the wings here at LSU.

sweet blog. couldn't you have just quoted this same statement along with a "+1" in one of the thousand other threads on here saying the same exact thing?

Well obviously if we hire the equivilent of Bill Callahan we are screwed. But if we hit on a Kelly, Patterson, Harbough, then we have the potential to affirm our status as one of THE programs in college football.

Nebraska also wanted to change their entire football philosophy w/ players that couldn't execute it and a new coach that sucked. Not comparable. Solich has been a real winner since then too, they really fired a stud.

As for Florida, yeah, it was all Tebow and had nothing to do w/ Meyer(Who signed Tebow, not Zook, so it wasn't like he was waiting for him), or Charlie Strong's D.

Kelly is obviously a winner and would be great here. He's won everywhere.

Patterson has only won at TCU but his defense is aggressive like LSU fans love. Seems like a safe hire as well.

I don't like Peterson as much due to the lack of success of Boise coaches elsewhere.

Then there's Muschamp and Strong. I love them both but they'd be risky hires. Plus I'm not sure Muschamp would come. I just really think strong is gonna be a stud when he goes somewhere, plus LSU fans would love his defensive style. And let's face it, it's a black mans game, and I'd love to see the positive affects hiring a black coach would have.

DEG - Nebraska fired Solich and made a very bad hire. And if you think Tebow is the only reason Meyer is rolling you aren't to bright. He can recruit and gameplan as good as anyone.

White Beans- I could have, but did not. Deal with it.

i am the exact same way...i have took up for him on numerous occasions but this weekend made me draw the line!! i cannot count the number of times i have defended him and pissed off many of my friends but this is where it ends for me. i could have let the mistakes go but when he threw our qb under the bus and wouldnt take the blame i wanted to throw up. i will support this university and those kids that work so hard until the day i die but i will no longer be on his side!!

Oh. Got it. So Nebraska knew they were hiring a shite coach. Let's hope one of those three would be as anxious to take the LSU job as we'd like to believe.

You don't know what would have happened had Solich stayed. They might have ended up in the same place. They just hired a terrible replacement. It's the nature of the beast. Ask Florida if it was a good idea to get rid of Zook.

Still not Tim Tebow?

Urban took over a program with a Senior quarterback and a phenom freshman in Tebow. Comparing that with what any we have in the cupboard at QB is apples and oranges.

What's Solich doing now?

Don't know, I know, it's okay.

Nebraska's mistake wasn't firing Solich, it was hiring Callahan.

But thanks for playing.

Might have? What we KNOW is that they got rid of a 9-3 coach and got worse after that. You don't think Nebraska would want a do-over?

You do realize they went from an option team to a pass happy west coast offense? This was the problem. We're not gonna hire a new coach and run the wishbone.

Tebow was being recruited by FL before Urban came along. Not saying Myer had nothing to do with it, but as we'll learn next year, Tebow has had a lot to do with it.

No, of course Nebraska didn't know they were hiring a shite coach. However, it was a very risky decision with the whole NFL to college and brand new offense factors.

And you're right, LSU has absolutely nothing to offer those coaches they can't already get with their illustrious positions. Are you kidding me man?
