Ole Miss Scoreboard at end of game.. time & time outs
Posted by yaherrdme on 11/23/09 at 8:45 am00
Can anyone confirm what it read? (not that it matters)
1. I had someone tell me immediately after the game the scoreboard read we had 1 timeout left.. and they were pretty sure (this could explain why Les "asked the cop about the timeout after the game.. eventhough obviously Les knew we did not have one or he would have called it)
2. After Tolliver's reception, it looks like the scoreboard time may have read 0, he basically looks like he is taking his mouthpiece out and walking away.. if there was anytime showing then he would have instinctively ran to the line (i think, but maybe with "1" showing it would have been same reaction.)
Just curious about that Les blew the whole thing and we did not deserve any more breaks at that point.. also still wondering why there was not 3 seconds on the clock.. I know that the scoreboard/tv is not "official".. but the 9 seconds was correct at the start of the 4th down play.. and the clock starts right on the snap.

I was there and the scoreboard showed 1 TO left. But I (a fan who has never played or coached a single down of football outside of the high school JV team) knew we actually had none.
One would think that a group of highly paid professionals could figure that out as well.

clock did show one time out left.
That explains Les question after the game.

Clock showed 1 second
If this is right.. it does not explain Tollivers immediate reaction after looking up.

quote:It shouldn't be that hard for him to remember he's called all of his timeouts. Thats basic Head Coaching 101. Most high school coaches can count to 3.
That explains Les question after the game.

Hence the reason he did not call a 4th during the game.. but to end that hectic and then look up and see 1 timeout left on the scoreboard, you may make a comment like the one he made.. no big deal.
