Greer (groin) has been ruled out of Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. (Nov 20)
I saw it on ESPN and also on rotoworld

I really think we are airing with great caution this season. We certainly have the luxury to do so like never before. He should definitely play in the MNG

we'll see whose injured for real and who we've been saving next week

why are we saving anyone for the Patriots? the Bucs game is WAY more important than the AFC East Patriots...
we lose to the Bucs and we no longer are the #1 seed in the NFC... with the Patriots after, Dallas fighting for their Division, the Panthers fighting for their playoff lives, the Falcons a tough road game for us, i'd much rather win this game and lose to the Patriots, if we are going to lose one...
the only other game i see the vikings possibly losing is the Bengals game, but that only gives them 2 losses and both to AFC opponents... in terms of tie breakers, they hold the lead if we have 2 losses as well and one of those is to an NFC opponent... i really could care less about the patriots game, big picture wise... pride wise, yeah i want to beat them, but it's not pertinent to win that one...

well it's not so much the patriots.. i truly believe no matter who we played greer would be playing next week rather than a bit early like this weekend.

we need all hands on deck to defend the pass against brady....freeman, not so much

ok, we'll see....
this much i know... every game we win, the target on our back gets that much bigger... and for a rookie HC and rookie QB, it doesn't get much bigger than beating one of the only 2 remaining undefeated teams in the NFL, a division rival, and a team no one on earth thinks you can beat....
there is a reason people say "any given sunday", you know...
this game, regardless of what the records of the teams indicate, will be tough.... did anyone think the rams were going to give us a game? yeah, we kept them in it, but at the same time our injury list is getting longer and our turnover margin is dwindling.... not a good combo at this time of year...
this team is not going to just roll over b/c they are 1-8 and we are 9-0... they have win under their belt and you have to think they are playing with some confidence, especially after seeing how successful the rams were vs. our depleted defense...

the point remains though that the Monday night game is much less important in the overall scope of things than the fans are making it... it's a huge pride thing, if we can beat the pats, but i can tell you now, if porter AND greer are out, forget it... Brady, Moss, and Welker are going to impose their will on our depleted secondary...
we need this game to keep pace with the Vikings...

dude...I COMPLETELY AGREE with you...the patriots game is really the game we CAN afford to lose

I don't think they're "saving" anyone for MNF. They're keeping the long term in mind. If Greer, Ellis, or Bush still aren't good to go for the Pats game, they won't play. It's as simple as that.
