Not getting caught up in the obvious negativity of the random fan..how do YOU feel? I consider myself (as I'm sure alot of you do) as the biggest LSU fan that I know. I am consumed by it all year with the season, spring practices, recruiting, etc, and I am to the point of just utter boredom. I never thought I could get to this point, but there is just something about the current state of things that just uninspires me. Now, I would never not watch or not cheer or just become completely uninterested in what is going on, but there is really something wrong with things right now. We only have 2 losses to highly ranked teams, but it's not about that for me. It's how they look every week, how Les acts on the sidelins, in press conferences, on his coaching show, etc. He has taken something from me that I literally think about every day of the year with an incredible passion and made it die down a little.

frick all you people with "his record is this, and his bowl record is that." That man has taken something from me and I will never forgive him for it.

Wow. Did he take your wife, one of your kids, your dog, some money? He's an evil man.

I try to be positive and remain optimistic - because what other choice do we have?

However, the signs are scary. Its like the entire LSU football program, fan base, etc. has burned out.

I agree with you Pratt LSU, for 4 million a year it seems like we can do better.

I'm with ya man. I feel the same way. We have built a great program at LSU and his blase attitude drives me up the fricking wall.

You are one of the people that I alluded to in the original post. You are a random fan. I would never expect someone like you to understand what it's like. Carry on, there are 40,000 other threads on this board that you will fit right in much better than this one.

Pretty easy concept here dude. Trying to find out what people really think when they delve deep down. We all bitch and moan when things go wrong on the scoreboard, but most of us don't step back and assess our thoughts on the program as a whole.

So, it's more of a problem of the current coach's personality for you? He doesn't act an arse on the sideline or with the media so he's a terrible coach? He is a complete idiot because he acts calm and collected on the sideline? Now, I will admit that it would be nice to see him tear into a player or two and work the officials on occasion when it is deserved, but other than that I have no problem with the way he acts.

And I will also agree that there is a lot of room for improvement with the team's performance, but I think a lot of that might fall to the assistants.

My feeling is this. We are still getting top notch talent but if we don't show that we can develop that talent and win the big games against the Bama's and Florida's those recruits will eventually go elsewhere and we will be an also ran. Who wants LSU to be an also ran?

I used to be like that years ago, but there's just so much more important stuff in life that I've really lost a lot of interest in it, ironically during a period when we've done well.

Yes, that is exactly how I feel.

Well, I think we diverge a bit here. I certainly could, and have as recently as last year, become completely uninterested. I hoped this season would prove last year was an anomaly and that we would bounce back, but now that we didn't, I'm becoming far less interested again.

And who hires the assistants? Doesn't the final say and responsibility ultimately lie with the head coach?

Maybe your one of those who prefer the thrill of the chase better than the catch?
