Well, since my last thread was full of fail due to my lack of reading comprehension skills, I thought I'd redeem myself by telling something interesting.
I got to talk to my cousin the friday before the bama game. After telling me his story about how he dislocated his finger during practice, he went on to tell me about how the LSU coaches are allowing him to use a new experimental helmet since he kept breaking facemasks from hitting.
From what he told me, these things are pretty legit. Basically, the helmet features a lot of technology on the inside. The main thing being the air bag feature. The way it works is that the airbags remain deflated until you put the helmet on, then it triggers the sensors inside to make them inflate. It stays that way until you take it off, then the bags proceed to deflate. From what he says, it's the best helmet he's ever worn. Then again, with the way he hits, that's probably what he needs.
