TigerNation - Time to move on

To win this game we needed all the pieces to fall our way, this wasn't going to be a game LSU could win despite making a few mistakes. The boys tried their hardest, the coaching staff did their job. We gave it our best shot. We had freak injuries and freak calls and were also indisciplined.
Sometimes things just don't go your way. Sometimes, its just not your turn and in LSU's case not your turn again.
This was that time.
Believe it or not, a meltdown will only make the jealous Gumps/Gators/Dawgs/Vols and the rest of the SEC feel a sense of satisfaction. Think about it, we've inflicted some pain this decade, we've destroyed some egos and made grown men cry. We've been the envy of SEC. Any team which wants to rise from nowhere and suddenly dominate, can look to our blueprint. Saban or Miles, who the hell cares, we (LSU) have dominated in the past and nobody can take that away. They want to be us. Keep your chin up, we've done some mean things and will continue to do so as well.
Lets be confident in our team of the future, we have a lot to look forward to. I appreciate the passion of our fan base, no point in being overly negative though. Lets look foward. Time to move on.

TigerDen:
I agree w/almost everything you posted, and I was movng on a lot easier until I saw all these photos and video clips for the first time today.
Anyway, it doesn't matter what I think. I'm just am alum and a big fan of All Things LSU sports. But our "boys" (the players), they deserved better.
As a former player, coach, ref, hack writer and Sports Info flak, I still can't fully imagine how those guys must feel knowing this really was a game they could've won. And in this case, it truly had so much riding on it. If LSU had prevailed, those cats are sitting at No. 3 in the BCS w/a great shot at another national championship.
BTW, it is possible to move on, be confident about the future and still feel raw about your team getting screwed with their pants on.
The past three years, I've been thrilled the way we've defeated Auburn and how we've done it each time. But all that went so wrong at Alabama reminds me of that 7-3 debacle at Auburn in 2006.

Move on?
There isn't any moving on. There's just dealing with it. If you want to call that 'moving on' then fine.
I've been following LSU since 1972 and this is THE team that has cheated, and gotten every call since the Bear soiled our turf. For over thirty seven years. Don't tell me to 'move on.'
If it were me, that school would be razed to the ground, its fields sown with salt, It's women and children sold into slavery and it's men castrated. I'd rid the world of that pox....vedi vidi vici. Some of you may know what that means and the context that i write in.
Ain't no damn moving on.
frick ALABAMA, THE REPLAY OFFICIALS AND THE FANS THAT SUPPORT THEM.
Hows that for moving on?
Sorry Chicken, but this game is different from any other game we play and always will be.
frick THEM frick THEM frick THEM.
and frick THEM AGAIN!

I understand that there is nothing that we can do about the no calls made from the LSU and Gumps this past weekend. I do however believe that we deserve an explaination for the call that was made on the field.

We should not move on. That's what the SEC wants us to do. We have to stand up for ourselves, otherwise this will happen again.

good post....
I think we need to be the team nobody wants to play...or play again. That's what we can be if we win the rest of the season.

Apparently...
there is no explanation for the call because any attempt to do so would be a flat out lie...and this they know...hence the lack of explanation.
Whatever trophy 'Bama gets, it will, unforetunately for them, be tainted, have a big smudge down the length of it, and the record books will have an asterisk on this game, their record post that game, and any subsequent bowl victory. At least from the perspective of most LSU fans, and perhaps even a few Roll Tiders.
LSU will move on, we don't have any choice but to, but the fans will remember, and hopefully so will the players and coaches; I hope they use it as a reason to get better as a team...
AND DESTROY ALL FOES FOR THE REMAINDER OF THIS SEASON AND THE NEXT!

...with the obvious "frick you"s to follow I'll just say that any asterisks you all decide to put next to anything Alabama does would also have to go next to any championships, any wins, that any team in the past got with a controversial call at any point in their season...probably most if not all of them. It's part of the game. Period.
I've read the "this one's different" tripe that some of you have posted, and quite frankly you only feel that way because it happened to you and even worse, with Nick Saban across the field.
I can't understand the anger aimed at Alabama and their players, who played just as hard as LSU's guys. You played a hell of a game...you've got a hell of a team.
We've been screwed before as have you. But you better understand that if you all think there is some kind of "grand conspiracy" then you better damn well have proof. Because you're talking the end of the greatest conference in college sports history. The SEC has done more for the South in the media than most of you will admit, and to be so juvenile as to propose a conspiracy of this magnitude would be ignorant at best.
Bottom line, LSU in the championship is just as valuable to the SEC as any other team in the league. The issue is league wide with officiating, NOT with Alabama, Nick Saban, or the Wizard of Oz.
Once again, great game. Y'all should be proud. Now go beat the hell out of Ole Piss and Arkansas.
