on this team ala a Jacob Hester, or Ali Highsmith? Is this a situation where we have to wait for a leader to be recruited, or is he alreay on the team waiting his turn? I'm a firm believer in the fact that this team is missing the "inspirational" team leader that everyone looks up to and that's why there hasn't been any "fire" seen from these guys. They are playing hard and getting better, but something is missing, like that one ingredient you can't put your finger on that you left out of a dish you are cooking up.

What's missing is an experienced QB. Look around college football and you'll see most of the top teams have one of these.

No amount of "fire" is going to change this fact. It takes a year or two to develop a college QB.

I agree with you on that. However, if look at 07 when we had a qb with the experience or maturity, he still wasn't really the emotional leader of the team. We do need the QB experience but that doesn't really mean the "leadership" will then come from the QB. Just curious what others thought about the situation.

Patrick Peterson or Kelvin Sheppard on Defense. The team feeds off of Pat's energy and confidence. On offense it would have to be Charles Scott. He embodies what an unselfish team player is all about. I have never seen him bash his oline or any other teammate and he never gives a pissed look or comment about sharing time with other talented backs

1. Florida - Tebow
2. Texas - McCoy
3. Bama - Ingram
4. Iowa - Stanzi???
5. Cincinnati - Pike???
6. TCU - ???
7. Boise State - Moore
8. Oregon - ???
9. LSU - ???
10. Georgia Tech - Nesbitt

It seems as though that a lot of the top teams don't have that proven leader and are similar to LSU in that respect, but the elite 3 teams in the nation do. Makes you wonder how important having that type of player can be.

This is officially the dumbest statement of the year on The Rant, and that's saying something.

But they do have experienced QBs. Don't know if that translates into team leader, but you can't dispute the experience factor. Until we get it, we will struggle on offense.
