QB Regression = Facing #1 Defense

In the opener against Washington, Jefferson completed 11 of 19 (58%) for 172 yards.
Against Vandy, Jefferson completed 20 of 29 (69%) for 138 yards.
Against ULL, Jefferson completed 16 of 25 (64%) for 165 yards.
In the Mississippi State game, Jefferson went 15 of 28 (54%) for 233 yards.
After the Georgia game, there were virtually no posts calling for the replacement of Jefferson. To the contrary, after going 18 of 27 (67%) for 212 yards, most people were fairly satisfied with his performance. (To be sure, the typical Lee supporters were still calling for Lee, but nothing will silence some zealots.)
Then Jefferson ran into the brick wall that is the Florida defense. He completed 11 of 17 (65%) for 96 yards. Some of his plays in the Florida game looked absolutely horrendous; those plays are certainly memorable.
Nevertheless, one must ask whether the facts prove that JJ is regressing during the first six games of the season or whether the facts demonstrate that JJ is progressing and simply had a bad game against the country's #1 Scoring Defense and #2 Total Defense, Passing Defense, and Pass Efficiency Defense.
The facts are clear. The trend might not be unbroken improvement prior to the Florida game, but Jefferson is clearly improving. The Florida game is not proof of regression. Rather, the Florida game is proof of what happens when a QB plays against a top defense that returned all of its starters and backups.

Didn't just yesterday you post a bunch of bullshite about you being a qb and we don't go to practice...........
Now today Jordan Jefferson has regressed.......
I don't believe for 1 second Jordan Jefferson has regressed........through 6 games LSU became more and more predictable........The #1 D had the ability to attack JJ on obvious passing situations and that combined with bad mechanics combined for 4 sacks alone.
Jordan throws better on the run, so they need to roll the pocket. They need to actually run to set up the play action and if both of those things occur you will see a another 60+% passing game and 220+passing game........and that will win games in the SEC.
Sorry didn't read your whole post..........I'm with you

the problem is you look at how many points some really really bad offensive teams put up against some of these same opponents and you realize just how bad our offense is.
not all JJ's fault, and he is a youngster, but something is not right. he is surrounded by a lot of talent.

Just like sacks have increased as we've been in more passing situations and quit running all of the horizontal passes and screens that we ran in the first few games.

No, he's been regressing for a few games now. He took a bunch of sacks against UGA (who has had a lot of trouble getting to the QB) and I believe MSU too.
I'm fine with Jeff at QB. We need better play-calling.

and yet, somehow the world continues.
We are still in the top 10. Our 1 loss is against the #1 or #2 team in the nation.
We are one of 4 teams that realistically controls our own destiny after half a season.
I dont care how pretty or ugly our wins are (lots of people were complaining after our beatdown of Miss st in 2007)- just keep winning.
Realistically, we cant win the MNC every year, but we have been in the mix pretty much every one of the years miles has been here (last 1/2 of last year the one real exception.)
I still think we are in the golden age of LSU football. I will not bitch and moan about what might happen if...
We are in a good place right now- no idea how long it will last [ask miami, ND, Nebraska- hell ask bama- they were gone from the discussion for decades(welcome back-by the way)]
enjoy it.
This Sat, our LSU tigers, a top 10 team, will host our nemesis for the last decade, in Death Valley, at night- with cool weather? It is still a GREAT time to be a tiger fan,
have a great day

WE HAVE ONE OF THE WORST OFFENSES IN THE NATION. How can you look at that and not complain about the QB. And that ranking is padded with a bunch of warm up teams, not the heart of our SEC schedule.
People keep saying JL and his pick six’s. The reason JJ doesn’t have any is the same reason we have such a poor offense. He will not throw in the middle of the field unless someone is open by ten yards. THAT TAKES AWAY YOUR PASSING GAME. If JL would have followed the same reasoning he wouldn’t have the number of interceptions he had either.
You cannot play the QB position scared and that is what JJ looks like, scared.

The thing that strikes me is how many people seem to believe that "progression" is a linear process. In other words, if a player grades out at 70 in his first game, he should then grade out at 80 in his second game, 90 in his third game—and then reach a consistent plateau of 100-grade performances thereafter. If only life worked that way.

So in other words he is probably 21 and a TRUE JR if he didn't leave Mich.

The Mallet argument
UF defense - Spikes < UF defense + Spikes
UF defense - Spikes < UF defense + Spikes
