Putting yourself in Les's shoes

I'm going to play devil's advocate I put myself in Les's shoes.
First off you have 3 young inexperienced QB's. So know you're handicapped from the start.
In Jefferson, you have a good athlete who can make things happen with his legs on occasion. He has shown an ability to take care of the football which coaches covet more than anything. His downsides are that he is one read QB. He gets happy feet and has very little pocket presence. When his first option is covered he looks to run. Takes a lot of sacks. Some sacks attributed to poor pass protection but some were due to happy feet. Can not run the option very well.
In Lee, you have a guy who can throw the football very well at times. He throws a catchable ball which receivers like. His downsides are that he stares down recievers. Also a bit streaky when it comes to accuracy. Gunslinger mentality that he can make any throw to any reciever. Immobile which is not a good thing when you can't pass protect very well. Has shown a propensity to turn the ball over and he threw two ints. the final fall scrimmage.
In Shep, you have the most explosive athlete on the team. He avgs. over 6 yds per touch. Must be accounted for when on the field. His downsides are fumbling and can can he take getting hit by bigger college players. Can he throw the ball well enough to keep defenses honest.
If you look at from Les's point of view, Jefferson wins by default. Not necessarily because he is better QB than the Shep or Lee, but mainly because he can be trusted more to take care of the football and not turn it over. With the way the defense is playing you don't want to do anything to get yourself beat.
It's conservative and boring, but that's the way LSU's got to play it for now. I understand it. Don't like it, but I understand it. I would personally would like to see Shep or Lee, or both get a series in the Auburn game. Just hope one of these guys either Jefferson, Lee, or Shep takes the reins over the coming weeks.

I'll keep saying this...Shepard doesn't have to play QB. He'd actually help us much more at receiver/RB.

The QBs were NOT inexperienced. People need to quit saying that. If you played a big part in at least 3 big games the year before, then you should know what the frick you're doing on the field. End of story.

Lee did not throw 2INt's in the fall scrimmage.
Until we see Lee on the field throwing interceptions this year, get off his arse and let's see if he's developed.
I'm tired of hearing how people urge being patient with Jefferson developing, but can't allow that Lee may have developed from last season.
Until we see him play, we won't know for sure.

At some point, taking a sack can be as harmful as an INT, especially on 4th down. Sacks are like holding penalties, except you don't get to replay the down.
It would just be nice to know for sure if Lee still has the INT issue...

Why wouldnt he? The OL is worse this year and JL only got worse the more he played. I dont know why sitting the bench would make him a better passer.
On the flip side, I guess there isnt much to lose.
But I think any QB will struggle as long as LSU doesnt have a QB coach.

WTF biglego?
Don't you think Lee's gotten practice and scrimmage work since last season??
Why practice and scrimmage if nobody learns anything or develops??? GEEEZ. Remove head from anal region.

Seriously? You think practicing with the second team and never playing in a game magically transforms a benched INT-machine into a rock solid QB that will save the team? Lee practiced an entire year before playing. Then he played/practiced nearly an entire season. He only got worse.
So maybe he did magically improve through not playing. Maybe that is the key. And maybe it's worth a shot, but with a crappy OL and shitty QB coaching, there's no reason to expect much.

Our offense is the Sarah Palin of the SEC.
Just not as sexy.

Now see I agree, but you do realize there are plenty that think just because Lee was bad last year, he's is the worst person to ever wear an LSU uniform, right?
My stance has been this, with two weeks of JJ and the OL can show improvement, I'm good, win the game, look better doing so and move on. If not, time to switch it up before this team quits on each other again.

Well Les, you have had over a full year to develop a QB as Perrilloux has been gone since early 2008. Now is a little to late to use the inexperienced QB excuse.

i think miles is going to handoff the buck on this problem and the upcoming penalty(penalties?) to crowton. as it probably should be

If they put Lee in the game, I just hope they do it on the road. One more INT or pick 6 in Tiger Stadium... well, let's just say I wouldn't want that for the kid.

If we can't find a qb that can run the of,we will have the same problem for the next 2 yrs.

Hell, run around if theres nothing and at best, give an ole punt down field if nothings open. Doesn't have to be pretty, better than a sack

The only difference between this offense and the offense for the last 3 games last year is T-Bob Hebert & Dworaczyk on the offensive line. LSU's offense was outstanding in those games. The only change was two players who can't block. Maybe in the bye week they will find a combination that can move the ball against their defense consistantly in practice. Quit putting Trindon Holliday at wide receiver with hands the size of my 5 year old grandson. They keep talking about Shepard but they put Holliday in at receiver. Hell, Holliday can't hold onto the punts much less a ball thrown down the field to him when he stands 5'5". Thats like trying to thread a needle.

Pat White didnt do too bad as a running thread and from what I understand, RS is a better thrower.
