Rush just had a female caller (who sounded like she was drunk) that passes a comment that passed a comment about our football team not being very good. Rush responded "now wait a minute, New Orleans is a KICK BUTT team this year."

Just a little more national media attention on a non sports show.

People forget that he was a sportscaster in St. Louis for a long time.

Dude is a great entertainer. The problem is that too many people actually take him seriously--both on the Left and on the Right...

Did you also hear her say how she was originally from Pittsburgh. That explains a lot.

yeah, I heard that caller. I about punched my radio when she said that, but then Rush saved my knuckles when he corrected her.

Rush may or may not have been right about the racial aspects of the comment, but the media sure does love to pick favorite players and push them hard, no matter their success or lack thereof.

Look at all the love Tony Romo has gotten despite no playoff wins and being responsible for a number of Cowboy losses, including the botched hold against Seattle in the playoffs.

yeah but its bad when players are coming out against him... i.e. aikman and tony dorsett... most rational(non cowboys fans) fans know how over rated and hyped he is

He was a disc jockey. I don't believe he was ever a sportscaster.

His major connection to sports was five years as promotions man for the Kansas City Royals.

LINK

quote:

Jackson himself had threatened to quit the show if Limbaugh had stayed. The Sunday after Limbaugh's resignation, Jackson delivered a speech in an attempt to compensate for his earlier acquiescence:

“Let me just say that it was not our decision to have Rush Limbaugh on this show. I have seen replay after replay of Rush's comments with my face attached, as well as that of my colleagues. Comments that made us uncomfortable at the time, although the depth and insensitive nature of which weren't fully felt until it seemed too late to reply. Rush Limbaugh is known for the divisive nature of his rhetoric. He creates controversy, and what he said on this show is the same type of thing that he has said on radio for years...Rush was brought here to talk football, and he broke that trust. Rush told us that the social commentary for which he is so well known would not cross over to our show, and that instead, he would represent the viewpoint of the intelligent, passionate fan. We know of few fans, passionate or otherwise, who see Donovan McNabb, a three-time Pro Bowler with two NFC Championship Game appearances, being somehow artificially hyped because of the color of his skin. The fact that Donovan McNabb's skin color was brought up at all was wrong—especially in the context of the brotherhood that we feel we have on this show...Rush Limbaugh was not a fit for 'NFL Countdown.'

See thats why I'm glad Rush is gone, not because he was right or wrong about Mcnabb though.

I go to sports to escape the politics of the real world, and whether it's the media hyping the first time two black coaches aer in the Super Bowl or Rush saying Mcnabb is overrated cause he's black that type of shite just makes me want to change the channel.

If I want that type of commentary I'll watch CNN not ESPN. My ESPN crew just needs to give me stats, and predictions. Leave the commentary on race at the door thank you very much

Unless it's a major policy announcement by a Saints linebacker. That we need to hear desperately.

Donovan Mcnabb:

Five NFC Championships
One Super Bowl Appearance

That's more than all the other Eagles QB's in the history of that franchise combined.

Big deal. Who cares? The media should just ignore Mcnabb just like they ignored John Elway all those years he played. I mean, who ever heard of John Elway until he rode Terrell Davis' coattails to two Super Bowls in the twilight of his career? The media sure didn't give John Elway any love until after he had retired, right? It's wasn't fair, and now it's just like Limbaugh said. Mcnabb only gets media attention because of the color of his skin.

And it's our duty as true patriots to make that known. We have the duty to single one person out on a national sports show and belittle him and his accomplishments because he is not White and the liberal media is forcing us true patriots to accept him.

Why, come to think of it, I'm almost 99 percent sure that all of Mcnabb's touchdowns, wins, and NFC Championships have been contrived. That was really Ron Jaworski winning all of those games but the media sure won't tell it that way.

Rush Limbaugh: "I don't think he's been that good from the get-go. I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. I think there's a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn't deserve. The defense carried this team."

All of that just to say, it wouldn't matter what a person like Donovan Mcnabb ever accomplishes, the only thing that true Americans should judge him by is the color of his skin.

And you agree with him.

Pathetic
