Anybody know the status of this? Is it going to happen?

I wouldn't expect the new Saint stadium talk to be heard again for at least 5 years. We just spent a shitload of money fixing up the dome in the last three or so years(well spent money by the way).
With this economic climate, ain't no way in hell a new stadium deal could even think of being passed.

We just signed a new lease to stay in the dome... so I think that stadium is on permanent hiatus

besides, I'd prefer it still be a dome if they built a new stadium in New Orleans....

Thats too bad. Its time for a new stadium. I'm actually surprised they didn't do it just to make sure the saints stay in NOLA.

A scaled down version of what Dallas has would be awesome.

I'm not trying to sound off color, but I doubt they will ever build a stadium that close to the river now

Not sure where you are going with this, but the area of land along the river throughout N.O. and Jefferson Parish is among the highest areas.

So where are they going to build? Mandeville?

Contrary to popular belief, not all of N.O. is 10 feet below sea level in a bowl.

For that much money they could have almost built a new one.
