Well, we are through three games of the football season and if you didn't know any better the 2009 LSU football season is over!
Thats right we don't even need to play the rest of the games on the schedule! We have no shot next week against Mississippi State in Starkville. Georgia is going to light us up and the only shot we have of beating Florida is if they forget the way to Tiger Stadium!
The above is what you would think if you were an outsider who stumbled upon this board this morning!
Now, do I believe any of the above is true?
NO!!!!!!
Now I want all of the people who read this to ask themselves the following?
We are 3-0. Would you rather be 2-1 or 1-2?
Some people complain we aren't using Russell Shepard in the right ways and that when he does see the field it's just like we use Trindon. Ask yourself this question, if you are Les Miles you want to just get Shepard on the field and get some experience, right, or would you rather show everybody els on the schdule how we plan on using Shepard in the offense? The answer if you think about it is you would probably like to catch Georiga and Florida with some suprises. You don't need an atomic bomb to blow up a car!
Now, with all that said this team has alot of room for improvment! Our line play must improve. We must be able to run the ball bettween the tackles a little better. The D-line in my mind needs to get more pressure on the QB. Jefferson needs to continue to develop into a better downfield passer and I believe that he will, he certainly has the arm to get the ball downfield and he has only made 5 starts. I would expect him to improve each game but some of you who will expect Joe Namith next week will probably be disapointed! This team has improved from week to week and I expect a improvment next week.
I agree with what Carl Dubois said in his article this morning right now this is an 8-4 football team! While that may be true this morning I expect this team to get better week to week. I look forward to the day in a few weeks when I get on this board and the same people who were proclaming Armagedon are saying how good this team is playing!
So, if you believe that this morining the season is over I encourage you to do the following:
Don't watch anymore LSU games this season! Don't attend anymore games in Tiger stadium! Because according to you the future is already written in stone and no improvment while it is needed in some areas can't be made!
Its a great day to be a Tiger fan we are 3-0 and we have nine more games to go and all this teams goals are still there. We can stil go to Atlanta, and yes even to the National Championship!
