If this would have back during the summer it may have been able to conjure up 6 or 7 pages but not now to much of this Saban/Miles.

Actuality has nothing to do with it it is all perception and nothing else. With Saban it is about intensity and with miles continuity. Miles has done more with what he had than what Saban did with what he had. End of story. Enough is enough.

The argument is though that Saban far exceeds Miles in every aspect of coaching. why then do his results not show it? I mean Miles has done better in OOC games; better in the polls; better in Bowl games; better against BCS conference opponents; never lost to a mid major; better against ranked teams; all this while arguably not having as good recruiting classes as Saban.

I want to know what made Saban so great? Yes, yes I know, he took LSU out of the dark years, but I prefer to deal with facts not perceptions. Even Dinardo was undefeated in Bowl games.

What gives??

The arguement that one coach did it with another coach's players is ridiculous...Saban did it with Dinardo's....Meyer did it with zook's...Saban did it last year with Shulas...Nutt did it with Ed O's...so go ahead and chunk that logic

Look, these comparisons of W-L stats for Saban vs Miles are silly. Saban did a great job at LSU. The most important stat in comparison of Miles and Saban is the number of other job offers sought and entertained during their respective tenures. Miles is happy to be at LSU. Saban was itching to go pro from 2003 on.

That, in the final analysis, is the stat that matters.

Maybe it is dumb, but why can't anyone support their argument with a factual response? Is it because there isn't one?

I'm just playing Devil's advocate here. Someone illustrate that Saban is better than Miles through facts, not because he "shouts" more on the sideline or some bullshite thing like that.

I've been on here long enough and read enough posts that provide half-arse arguments to why he was soooo much better.

I backed my argument with facts. Miles has done better during his tenure than Saban did during his.

Prove me wrong!!

anyone???????

Biggest issue I have with these threads is the program was in 2 different places for each coach.
With Saban we were coming off 2 losing seasons and a Indy bowl team. Prior to Les we were coming off 3 winning seasons with a national championship.

To compare the numbers to me is silly as the talent level was not equal when they began. Saban did great things for LSU, Dinardo left him enough talent to turn it around quickly. Les came in took the players that were left and continued the winning that began with Saban.
Both are great coaches for LSU and LSU is lucky to have them even with Saban at Bama you can not discount what he accomplished.

No, actually it's not the Devil's advocates keeping it alive because they tend to be a little more objective that the multitude of pro Saban/pro Miles posters on here.

I will admit that Saban had more talent/better recruiting while he was here. This only supports my argument

By your logic, Mike Gundy is a better coach than Miles as he has taken Oklahoma State to a better record and better bowls than Miles?
