Does anyone know anything about this 300lb monster? I saw him in a scrimmage this year and he was unblockable during the scrimmage, had a good burst off the line and looked about 6'3.

I saw him play against West Monroe in the Bayou Jamb.
He is #72, I think his name is Jaryn Johnson and is either a sophomore or junior. He was definately a beast.

Hopefully someone will help us out with a little more intel on the guy, thanks for the name, he was impressive. There is also some chatter on the new Ken Ramsey board(which sucks) ab out a soph. DT from Ouachita thats 6'4 305. Its starting to look like the 2012 class will have some of the biggest bodies this state has ever seen

I watched #72 exclusively during the Bayou Jamb. Don Shows is very high on his O-Line this year.
No one and I mean no one on the West Monroe O-Line could handle #72.
And, don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about.
I watched it myself with binoculars up close and personal.

i said i would report back when i talked to my family about this kid. i actually got to make a trip up there yesterday and i caught the bastrop-rayville game. the DT that the thread is about is a man child. i asked and he is thought to be a soph. but a jr. in age. so he might be a 2011 recruit if he can get his grades in order. not 100% sure on this info but thats the report i got.
now on to the play on to the play on the field. the kid dominated the first half. bastrop would try to pound rayville and would never get anywhere. he is a little on the short side. looked 5'11' maybe a little taller from the stands. he is very thick though. he got double teamed on every snap and was still a force. he has great vision and can move. bastrop started running away from him and he looked like glen dorsey moving laterally down the LOS.
in the third qtr he was hit with the cramp bug and was basically playing on one leg. he couldnt bend his ankle because of the cramps. he was still moving and making tackles up and down the LOS. i was fairly impressed with him. if he has one or two more years of high school it will be fun to watch his development.

thanks for the info... I'm pretty sure he's a good bit bigger than 5'11. He seemed as tall as the interior guys from Ruston which are all between 6'-6'2"... regardless, they didn't block him, I agree he's a Sedrick Ellis/ Dorsey kind of guy

yeah thats good he is a little bit taller. i was sitting kinda high and really couldnt tell. i am still working on finding out his academic situation.

He did a very good job against WM. He made 3-4 big stops on the option, completely blowing up the play.

i saw the same thing. he could get in the backfield when he wanted but could also flow down the line and make tackles. alot of his tackles against bastrop came that way because he was banged up.
